Who is for the Drop?
First topic message reminder :
I've probably just given Blackburn the kiss of death by suggesting on their thread that they'll avoid the drop.
My teams for the drop are the three new boys. I think inexperience will ultimately count against them. QPR's recent poor results are not far off becoming a freefall. Despite very respectable starts, I don't see Norwich or Swansea scoring enough and believe their commendable work rates may lead to them both running out of gas around Easter.
All carefully worked out and most likely entirely wrong. What do others think?

So who joins Wolves and Blackburn? Looks very like Bolton although could still be QPR .
We'll soon know ....

I fancy Stoke to beat Bolton. Everybody is expecting Bolton to win because they have to but it's never that simple.
Stoke 2-0 for me!

My money's on Bolton. QPR will get beat but I can't see Bolton getting anything more than a point at Stoke. I hope I'm wrong though, I do like Bolton (and Owen Coyle).

Re: Who is for the Drop?
I still haven't quite worked out how Wigan managed to pull it out of the bag, after three quarters of the season, when I think they were rock bottom with a gap.
Blackburn's recent string of defeats have been disastrous - pulling relegation from the jaws of premiership safety. This seems to be partly the result of player unrest (their captain Samba left mid-season), and partly the result of Steve Kean's managerial inexperience.
I rate Coyle as a manager but he seems to have been flustered this season, which perhaps is associated partly with behind the scenes difficulties (financial etc).
It is also getting more difficult in the Premiership. As someone mentioned, no matter how good you are, three teams have to be relegated at the end of the season.
Personally I think the most likely scenario today is QPR being beaten 3-1 and having a player sent off, and Bolton drawing with Stoke 2-2. It's really going to be a question of how "fresh" the Bolton players are - as they are going to need to put a lot of energy into the game to have a chance of beating Stoke. They also need to remain "cool" as Stoke tend to be well organised in defence.

Stoke have taken an early lead against Bolton: 1-0 to Stoke.
Wolves take the lead against Wigan, but less than five minutes later Wigan are ahead: 2-1

What a turnaround. QPR a goal down and a Bolton equaliser! Game on!

Toure getting injured for City. GOddamit he's the best on the pitch. Feel they will concede now

Man City 1 QPR 1 (Djibril Cisse)
I can't imagine QPR will hold on to this ... although Djibril Cisse is a good player he tends to get sent off.
ps Obvious(?) tactic from QPR though - hit them hard at the kick off to catch Man City "cold".

What did I say - QPR have a player sent off - Barton. Not sure whether or not it was a Tevez dive.

It was hard to tell by replays NS, but there was no need for that reaction to the decision what so ever.

Total thug ain't he LK? Disgusting human being.

Re: Who is for the Drop?
Certainly, but if it was a 50-50 against Tevez he shouldn't even have been carded.legendkillarV2 wrote:It was hard to tell by replays NS, but there was no need for that reaction to the decision what so ever.

Re: Who is for the Drop?
Un-believable. Kudos to QPR 3 shots 2 goals
The less said about Barton the better. To use 'retaliation' as an excuse is pathetic.

Re: Who is for the Drop?
Okay, replay of the Barton incident - a straight elbow into Tevez' face. Stupid and utterly irresponsible.
Guest- Guest
Re: Who is for the Drop?
Agreed NS. Yes Tevez had a kick out. Not sure how much contact was made with Barton, but his reaction just stupid and thuggish. I hope QPR terminate his contract.

Re: Who is for the Drop?
I'm with you on that LK and I pity the next club that takes him on.

Re: Who is for the Drop?
16 minutes left. Man City players are apparently in panic, while 10 man QPR are stoically defending coolly. Time for Balotelli?

Re: Who is for the Drop?
I must admit I was one of those who thought it was a formality for City. Just amazing how QPR have literally pulled this one out of the bag.

Re: Who is for the Drop?
I think it would be sad for City to "lose" the title in this manner. Not sure if Mancini could survive ... too much of a "shocker".
It is being said that City are playing like individuals rather than a team.

Re: Who is for the Drop?
Agree there NS. Mancini would not survive that. Losing the title on the last day and City just not performing at all.
Guest- Guest
Re: Who is for the Drop?
7 minutes left plus extra time. Mancini looks like he is having a slow heart attack.
Guest- Guest
Re: Who is for the Drop?
Just un-real. I can't remember a title decided on the last day like this. I know Man U had some scrapes in 1996 and 1999, but this will be sweetest of them all. To de-throne your rivals like this. As Kammy would say 'Unbelievavble Jeff'

Mancini - a few minutes away from a heart attack and being sacked is now a Man City legend.

Re: Who is for the Drop?
Just never ever seen anything like this. I know Arsenal 1989 was crazy, but this.

Re: Who is for the Drop?
Both City goals were scored in extra time. Dzeko scored +1 min into extra time. Aguero's winner was more or less the last kick (+3 min extra time).
It couldn't have been any closer. I am sure there have many heart attacks amongst spectators.
