The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of Steve Shingler, Tim Visser and Sean Maitland above the bar!
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Diolch, Glas. It's taken us an F while, but there were glimpses tonight.
Martyn Thomas: he was one of yours, wasn't he? He did very well to score tonight because Will Harries butchered the overlap.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Evening all.
I inadvertantly tuned into Newsnight just now to find out that the raging debate of the minute is whether or not women who have paid privately to have dodgy French plastic t1ts installed for their own self-serving vanity, should be entitled to have them removed AND replaced at everybody else's expense on the NHS!
Putting aside the fact that Mrs Hbloke has to make do with just the one through no fault of her own, the BBC actually had the temerity to interview the "former" (feckin former mind) president of BAAPS!!!?!!!?
BAAPS?!! Honestly? Is this Newsnight or Monty feckin Python?!!
They're not helping my New Year resolution at all, at all.

Lucky I am well thank you. It has been a tough week but we are getting there I will be about for a wee while.
Good win tonight mate, even though it wasn't what I predicted. Sometimes it's nice to be wrong. I hope I haven't offended any O's fans

Yes they should have them removed if they are a danger to health but have to pay if they want them replaced.
As a sales gimmick the NHS should advertise them as "Buy one get one free" works for Tesco's

Negative on the ape front Glas, have it downloaded but didn't get in from work till 20.30. I'll watch it in the morning with my porridge. I'm still struggling with my perception of baboons being fruit-eaters though.

It's dangerous to have them put in Cymro, but I'm sure some of the women who get them think it's route-one to marrying a footballer. I don't see as it's an NHS problem at all.

I can't remember when I last felt so confident of a win. I can't see it making much of a difference to Kidneys 6-N selections but it might get a couple of our fringe players into the extended squad which would be great.
Paddy Mac
Chris Henry
Paul Marshall
Craig Gilroy
I would be greatly annoyed if Dan Tuohy and Darren Cave didn't make the final squad. For me that would be progress and would reflect how far Ulster have progressed in the past two years.

I'm good thanks, PJ. The January Blues are a pisser - but it's some consolation that we won't have to wait too long 'til March and Spring come again.

A dangerous omen. I have never felt fully confident ahead of any big Munster HEC match really I always have the fear factor.
The last time I felt truly confident of a big win was against Harlequins in the Amlin Semi Final. . . .
Ominiously I think we can win in StadiumMK against Saints

PJ nice to see Bath turning a corner. I've always liked Bath mainly due to the fact that when I were a nipper my school team wore blue, black and white hoops. Also I was always mightily impressed by The Rec (until I actually visited it. . . .it left me a bit underwhelmed.

Stag if Leicester were coming to Thomond Park without their stand-out Lock, Flyhalf and Centre would that not instil some confidence?

Hey Stag, howsit? I wouldn't say they've turned the corner yet, but they've managed to negotiate one without being ploughed into the gravel.
I can't imagine you wearing blue Stag, do you still get nightmares?
The "wreck" has a beautiful setting, possibly one of the best in world club rugby, but the "stadium" is a joke and always will be until common sense prevails and the planning permission is granted for development. I think it's coming though.
My school colours were green, red and yellow hoops and I've always felt an affinity for Bob Marley...

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Ah I was wearing Blue at Bath v Leinster. I'll be in green next weekend for Toulouse v Connacht and my lovely red for Northampton v Munster the weekend after. Although I won't make it to any of Ulsters HEC matches I do have an Ulster wooly hat (given to me by Rava) that I wore most of this winter and last night while out jogging.
Rava - yes I would be confident but I just tend to big up the opposition in every HEC match.

Stag, you were wearing red and proud of it in the Pulteney Arms, weren't you? Maybe I'd had too many by then?
C'mon Connacht! I'd love to see them tuck Toulouse up at the SG, it could happen.
You're a rugby man and no doubt about it Stag.

Yea I was wearing red in the Pulteney Arms because I had my bloody fill of blue. But during the match I had a Leinster flag and jacket on.
The day before the Leinster fans wore Munster jerseys to Parc y Scarlets
Im lucky that I can take in these games as part of work but I do appreciate committed rugby teams.

Some serious Irish rugby legends have worn that shirt: David Wallace, Peter Clohessy, Red_Stag, Eoin Reddan
They had a fair few barren years but are doing seriously well now. Munsters next genreration are coming through there.
I was in Thomond Park touch judging Munster Schools v Ulster Schools this season and Munster won a thriller of a match. Only Crescent College players scored points.

The legacy lives on with Crescent College then, there's something magic about the blue, black and white, for sure.
Hang on there a minute, YOU were TJ'ing?
.....and only Crescent College players scored points?
Nah, I'll take that as a fair and square win.

Ah I may have taken out a few Ulster defenders with my leg but it was an epic match.
1 point in it. Try with 6 minutes to go to take the lead and a well fought match.
The lad I recommend to look out for is Greg O'Shea. Very impressive. A bit Shane Williams/Jason Robinson esque. Scored 2 tries that day. Plays 11/14/15

Decent win for the Ulstermen tonight. Very pleasing. Ravster I don't share in your confidence regarding next weeks clash. I think we will win, but that's based on a hunch rather than our recent performances having anything to do with it. Munster were poor last week and Edinburgh weren't in truth that much better. Leceister's injury problems will help us no end though. Not confident of a win but I'll whisper it on here anyway.
Did anyone see earlier on this week Ibanez was tipping us to top our group. I think I commented on it in here...
