Re: HEC round 5 Who will win or lose.
maestegmafia Saints were well below par that day plus they missed the mighty Foden.
You are indeed correct but I feel Saints are in better form now than they were then. Plus on paper Saints are better than Scarlets.

Saints have hit some strong form recently, should be a really good game against the Scarlets.

Re: HEC round 5 Who will win or lose.
Certainly will.
I am not confident that the scarlets will win this. Their whole campaign relies on this going there way.
A good team, definitely intend to play rugby too.
Let's hope the ref is strong on hookers standing up in the scrum all the time.

Let's hope the red is sting on hookers standing up in the scrum all the time.
What does red is sting mean? Was it a typo did you mean ref and something else? Scarlets should surely feel confident at home?

Perhaps he means ping? (even though 's' is at the other end of the keyboard to 'p')

Re: HEC round 5 Who will win or lose.
Or 'sting' is a new slang word for 'quick to penalise'
We can all assume 'red' is in fact 'ref' (it's easy to mistype that when you've had a few)

Great win for Edinburgh but cocked up my predictions already as only away wins I predicted were Clermont and Leinster.

On shocking run at mo Maes, just below and just above 50% last two rounds.
I have tipped L Irish as a home win but after tonights win for Edinburgh then it makes the Blues game more inetrestin now as they have to win.

Plenty of spice in this round and the next, exactly what you want from the Heino, would love to see the Amlin games made more competitive with a further layer below that, perhaps incorporating the B&I Cup

The Blues dont have to win, but then they would need LI to beat Edinburgh next week

Re: HEC round 5 Who will win or lose.
Pool 2
Fair amount of surprise last night. Two good home wins and one away win against the voting trend. Only fourteen voters had Edinburgh nailed on to beat Racing in Paris. Meaning the Blues still have a decent fight on their hands to win Pool 2.
Edinburgh 2% 14 Votes
Racing Métro 5% 29 Votes
Pool 4
Leicester were quite literally thrashed at Ravenhill last night, possibly a surprise for the twenty nine people who voted for Ulster to win but a devastating mis calculation for the eighteen who thought the Tigers would come away with a win. Great result for Ulster to take advantage of the Tigers. Not sure whether it is poor form or underestimating their opposition but ulster were superb the Tigers were awful.
Leicester Tigers 3% 18 Votes
Ulster 5% 29 Votes
Pool 5
Ospreys put in a simple performance taking advantage of Treviso not travelling well to get the TBP they needed, the O's also managed to improve on the points difference that was better than what either Biarritz or Saracens had won by. The result being pretty much by the board, only a plucky three voters thought Treviso would win this, though I don't think that the thirty seven who voted for the Ospreys thought they would have such an emphatic win.
Ospreys 6% 37 Votes
Saracens 7% 40 Votes
Benetton Treviso 0% 3 Votes

Maybe they don't have to win but you want your desting as such in own hands and not relying on other results plus after last nights game I guess Edinburgh would be pretty confident against Irish at home.

London Irish are not a great side, the Blues have to beat them to prove something to themselves as well as everyone else.

Re: HEC round 5 Who will win or lose.
Aironi 0-82 Clermont Auvergne - only 2 people got this one wrong
Harlequins 20-14 Gloucester - only 2 people got this one wrong
London Irish 15-22 Cardiff Blues - 29 people called this one wrong, the majority thought Blues could not win this
Montpellier 24-22 Bath - 7 people thought bath could do it, Bath almost proved them right too.
Munster 26-10 Castres - Munster almost had the complete vote only one poster thought that Castres could win. They did well in bits and i am sure they will be back next year.
Scarlets 17-29 Northampton - 12 people had faith in Saints and they were right to do so in a great clash at PYS. Interception at the end rather flattered Saints close game.
Toulouse 24-3 Connacht - 4 people had faith in Connacht unfortunately Toulouse proved their cup pedigree.

Well the Blues won in a tight contest against LI who did not have a deal to play for, but they haven't proved much to me. It was one of the poorest games of the weekend & the Blues will still have to step up on this performance if they want to progress in the KO stages.(if they make it)
Even the 'try' involved a missed knock on by the officials...good run by Lualua mind.

Re: HEC round 5 Who will win or lose.
I agree
Great run by Lualala and excellent Support from Warburton. Not a great game but a win all the same.
The Blues have huge hurdles to leap if they get into the Quarters and have serious ambitions.
