Let's see how this pans out.

First person to get the confirmed correct answer gets to post the next clue. No need to give the number of characters in the name, but the clue must be for the first and last name (although variants of first name are allowed e.g. Andy or Andrew)

....there are 2 famous Don's in old Spanish literature - Don Quixote and Don.....? From that, get a tennis player with that name, and get that player's surname. That will help to get the Princess.

Here's one that feels very low brow and substandard now

The first name is for the gamers among you. This player shares a first name with the heroine/ love interest in the fantastic Uncharted series.

Surname phonetically - it rings and is followed by foreshortened facial hair.

Should really have started thinking of one while I was still guessing Erm

To give an extra clue - the foreshortened facial hair refers to the second syllable of the surname and is shortened slang for a type of facial hair.

Right on the first name!

Remember the surname is phonetic. The first syllable could just as easily be something used in tennis as something that rings.

I may also have dropped an a from the surname - couln't think of a slick way to blend it into the clue like JHM did!

It's an obscure clue with an obscure-ish answer.
Spartan is also "Heroine of Tempest (but not The Tempest)"
You'll need google and some deductive reasoning.
