Tennis Player - Cryptic Clue Thread
First topic message reminder :
Let's see how this pans out.
First person to get the confirmed correct answer gets to post the next clue. No need to give the number of characters in the name, but the clue must be for the first and last name (although variants of first name are allowed e.g. Andy or Andrew)
1. Delivered without Jay, a robot, without Cy.

I'll confess I'm no good at this lol and I was lucky to get your other one. You might need to wait for some of the specialists here to look. Also my database of players isn't as large as it should be going by some of the answers.

Nope. In any case I refuse even to think about her, possibly the most ridiculously trussed up player at Wimbledon.

the fact that having got dressed up like a dog's dinner she then went on to lose in the first round was quite funny.

Mason or Jeremiah are the only two I can see listed on ATP with that last name.
It could also be dupe-her = Dupre = Pat Dupre?
That is the only one I know well enough.

You're on the right lines for the first name, but not used the right synonym yet.

The only name I can come up with is "Wilander" but he's not on tour as retired and presently recuperating.

JHM for the long wait.
Inside company = inc or co or llc (the German/Spanish variants may not make any sense.)
browns me off = bake?
James Blake?

Amazing clue, I got the shakespeare reference but was considering other possibilities as well and wasn't sure what to do with the rest of the clue. To be fair though I've heard people mention about Tanner and having a fast serve but I didn't know his first name.

By Western do you mean USA Pacific Coast and Mid West or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Oddly, by Western I mean Southeastern - you'll understand why when you get it. But, yes, it is a US state

Re: Tennis Player - Cryptic Clue Thread
Not Carolina, because that would be 'Northern' or 'Southern', despite being Eastern. and even if it were, then not Wozniacki because Caroline <> Carolina
