Tennis Player - Cryptic Clue Thread
First topic message reminder :
Let's see how this pans out.
First person to get the confirmed correct answer gets to post the next clue. No need to give the number of characters in the name, but the clue must be for the first and last name (although variants of first name are allowed e.g. Andy or Andrew)
1. Delivered without Jay, a robot, without Cy.

Ok its a bit of a duff clue. It is actually a very small river but also the name of a town and wine growing region.

Nope, it's a bit of a linear jigsaw this one. Get the parts and put them together to get 2 names. The first bit (not the full first name) is one of the things a bull can do.

God, McDonalds and Fluffy?
One's omnipotent and around us everywhere (McDonalds)
Another's a name for a bunny rabbit or dog (Fluffy)
And the other, strangely enough is dog backwards (?)

Re: Tennis Player - Cryptic Clue Thread
God has different spellings in different languages.
McDonalds has these in ubiquitous quantities.
Hopefully this is sufficient to crack it.
Edit: Fluffy is a poster on another forum who has a history exam and was thrown in just for the inspiration that resulted in this clue.

Yes. Very well done indeed. Bill Tilden's peer. Bud Collins mentions him in glowing terms. Won the FO in 1934 and 1936.
