Frankie's Back
Gavin is set to fight in an eight rounder on the Cleverly - Karpency fight undercard. I don't expect a big name but it will be good to see him back in the ring. Anyone know if his personal problems have been sorted?

Re: Frankie's Back
Just another Warren fighter going to waste (ala Kell Brook) having to sit on the backburner while Cleverly and DeGale get all the special treatment.
He should go to the Hearns' . He isn't gonna get much of a profile doing silly 8 rounders on the abyss aka Boxnation.

I think he probably needs an eight rounder. He's been out a while and with recent issues it's a good way to gauge where he is mentally.

Thing is it's been down to Gavin not Warren - he's the one who keeps pulling out of fights at the last minute, apparently suffering with depression. I agree BoxNation isn't good for a young fighters exposure but his career stalling has been down to him, not Warren.

Agree with Alex, for all Warren's faults i think Gavin is the only one to blame for his stalling career.
Most people have issues in their personal lives which affect their work, whether it be a sports job or an office job and Gavin's lack of dedication is his own problem to sort and not Warren's.

Yes, although he wasn't really given the exposure at the beginning. It was all about DeGale.
I like Frankie but to be honest, I can only see him becoming a Paul Smith type fighter. There isn't any real interest in him.

Re: Frankie's Back
Gavin was meant to be the pick of the bunch i.e. first Brit to win an amateur boxing gold etc but since that day his career has gone nothing but downhill.

I thought that Billy Joe Saunders was meant to be the pick of the punch? Or have I got that wrong?
Re: Frankie's Back
Whilst I agree Frankie's current problems are largely of his own making, I still agree with Reeborn that he should dump Warren and go over to Matchroom. Would rather see him on Kell Brook undercards fighting over in the States than 8 rounders on Boxnation. Staying with Warren will just keep him out of the limelight and brushed aside at the expense of Clev and DeGale.
It's for the same reason I think Groves made a big mistake going to Ol' Fish-Eyes not Hearn. Since he moved, having beaten De Gale, he's fought a guy De Gale already beat and now a fighter he's already beaten. De Gale on the other hand has, in one ropey performance, become Euro champ.

To be fair Groves can't do much about this rematch as the BBBoC has ordered it.
Re: Frankie's Back
Sorry, didn't realise. Has there not been too much water under the bridge for a rematch?

Gavin 'appparently suffering depression'? Very, very tricky subject that one. If true theen he needs specialist help and it's not 'his fault'.

Saunders may have been the pick i could be wrong but considering Gavin's amateur pedigree, I thought he was the one people were most anticipating.
He's been another disappointment, considering it's 3.5 years since he went pro!

That's what I thought but in the BBBoC's infinite wisdom they've made Anderson a mandatory. This rematch should have happened somewhere between after their first fight and before the DeGale fight for me.

Gavin discovered that a child he had fathered for a couple of years wasn't his. Must have been a big shock and from that view I can understand his depression.

I can imagine. She sounds like a nice girl. He should come back and not give her the satisfaction. Easier said that done I guess though

Doesnt explain why he was a fat lazy slob before he found out his gf was a skank.
Lazy people will always find an excuse to be lazy. Needs to get over himself.
And all this depression stuff.... do me a favour.
