I take it questions about his incredibly hot girlfriend are out the question then!

Welcome to 606V2 Anna Banana!
I suppose it isn't any surprise that the lure of Max Evans has brought numerous new female members to V2!
Good to have you and Glasgow girl here anyway!

Cause that isnt a typical male response to female rugby fans :P!
Ive been watching rugby and proudly supporting Scotland since I was a kid and I love the game for many reasons including: the dedication of the players, coaches and fans; atmosphere and drama at games; patriotism; banter between fans; the small margins on which games can be won/lost; the anthems; the fact that rugby players are usually modest, hard working, dont cheat on their wife/gf and dont dive to the ground collapsing in 'pain' at the slightest tackle unlike most footballers. I understand the scoring, the positions, rules and laws as best I can as a spectator (I wish I had got into playing it when I was younger) so dont assume I only watch rugby for the 'eye candy' of those playing it! I believe rugby is an undervalued and under -supported brilliant sport in Scotland and I love watching and supporting Scotland at any level, the 'eye candy' is just an added bonus :P! Rant over !

Substitue Wales for Scotland and I feel exactly the same as you! Welcome to the forum, great to have another female on the rugby board (we're outnumbered slightly see )

Thanks and same to you! Im only human so the odd player may catch my eye :P but I hate the automatic assumption that girls cannot be knowledgeable about the game and the way its played !
Im guessing ur supporting Wales in the 6nations then :P?!

Re: Discussion from Max Evans Q&A
ha yep that I will be, and 3 home games this year = excellent!
And to be fair, there are a fair few female posters on this forum, and we all know our stuff, so perhaps the assumption may change now!
So do you support either Glasgow or Edinburgh, or do you just support all of Scottish rugby as a whole then?

Re: Discussion from Max Evans Q&A
I thought the assumption was that although women can be knowledgable about the game it doesn't stop them drooling stilghtly at some of the players (and I'm not talking about Iestyn Thomas here)
But welcome to the forum
PS I get annoyed at the assumption that women can't play the game either - I grew up with a girl whose now (or just retired) a Wales international

We only have two home games, one of which I cant attend and it looks like I cant get a ticket to the Ireland away game so screaming at the TV will have to do this year! Any chance of a ticket and/or place to crash for the Scot v Wales match :P?!
I support Scotland first and foremost and if I had to pick a professional team it would be Glasgow Warriors cause I think in recent years they have done great things with rugby in a city that is dominated by the 'Old Firm' of football including signing and re-signing current Scottish internationals and bringing up young talent too. Im yet to make it to a club match as I live around 3 hours away from Glas and Edin but I will get there soon. I wish Edinbrugh well but just not against Glasgow ::P!

Haha I guess it works both ways but I honestly pay more attention to the play during the game cause I get draw in. The 'talent' in the players is high though, even mother has a soft spot for one of the Irish players. I dont drool though, I try to keep composure when watching it with the parents :P!
Yes it is annoying when men assume women cant play a sport just as wel as men. I wish I had paid more attention to rugby as a child as now im too scared to look into joining a woman's team.

Re: Discussion from Max Evans Q&A
ha no chance you'll have me affording tickets to Wales v Scotland, I shall just be camped out in a pub across the way from the stadium instead!
Yeah Glasgow are doing well at the moment, and you're getting one of my fave players back next season too (Sean Lamont - I'm a Scarlet see!). Fingers crossed you make it to a club game then
and I think we're taking over this thread a bit so I best get a question in!
Max - what drew you to rugby union over any other sport? what made you choose it?

Haha im lacking in funds too, skint student :P!
Yes its good to see Glasgow doing well, im sticking by them through good and bad! Im delighted he is coming back to the Warriors, brotherly love next season ! But doesnt he have a business down in Wales with his wife? The Lamont brothers back in blue for both club and country will be a further draw to Firhill/Scotstoun :P!
Yes we r getting a tad sidetracked...
Max - Anything you particularly want to do/achieve after rugby e.g. Business aspirations? Golf?

Yeah him and his wife run Rugby Tots down in the area around Llanelli, think we're all really sad they're going, they fit in so well down here. Still his kids are still really young so the best time to move them really + he gets to go home. Win, win for him, and brilliant for Glasgow

Yea I read about his business in Rugby World mag, I guess he can start another branch in Glasgow now. Sorry ur losing him but its definately a win win for him to come home, and im glad Scottish players are coming back to Scotland, too many have left for Eng or abroad in recent years.

Woah Woah Woah - I see an innocent comment has been take the wrong way and perceived to be a sexist joke! (i feel like a sky sports commentator here! )
So just to clarify I have lots of female friends who love the game and know the rules, whats going on and who the players are better than plenty guys I know! Indeed my girlfriend is a prime example of that, and she is a particular fan of the Evans brothers, hence why I said that comment!
So apologies - I definitely wasn't implying that all woman just watch rugby for the men!
Just don't bring up why men watch beach volleyball...

Oi! Since when was that a valid rugby question for an international player! Some people these days :P!
Max, please ignore this, just male rugby fans stirring up trouble for their female counterparts as per usual!

I think it's important to know how passionate about Scotland Max is or if his head can be turned by fair maidens from the land of the dragon!
Only joking though and I'm sure the question won't be sent to Max (and you could have missed out on having Max sweep you off your feet...)

Haha well id hope being a Scot he wouldnt 'date the enemy' as such! But then his rather beautiful girlfriend is American! I would love to be swept off my feet by a rugby player such as Max, but he is further down the list than others !

Re: Discussion from Max Evans Q&A
ahh I see - not being that way inclinded I always assumed the pecking order (for women) with rugby players was it started at the back eg 15, 14 ect and came down - until you finish with the props who are like the rubbish kids on the playground - always the last to be picked...
But we could do a deal - I'll take his girlfriend and you can take Max (and Thom if your feeling greedy!)
But I must complain at the use of the word 'enemy' for us celtic bretherin in Wales!

Haha you have a point in that its usually the 'pretty boy' backs that get most admirers e.g. Carter and Evans of course. But I think the Scotland squad has some pretty good looking forwards too e.g. Ford and Barclay. However I seem to have a soft spot for #9's lol :P!
I couldnt possibly choose between the brothers, and doesnt that mean you would get Kelly Brook too?
Im not trying to offend, Im just being patriotic. I love the Welsh and Irish - the fans are awesome at matches and you have the best anthem ever, end of. And Celtic bretherin as you say must stand together against the English :P!

Anna - I don't care, don't fancy Max at all. I can see why others find him (and his brother) attractive, but he doesn't do anything for me.
Incidentally, I'm going to chuck your theory out of the window right now. I LOVE the "talent" in rugby, in fact I have my own little competition during big tournaments. I know a bit about rugby but I'm nowhere near as nerdy as some. I just enjoy watching it.

He isnt bad looking but I prefer others in the Scot squad. And ur welcome to admire the talent, women will always do it in mens sport and men will always do it watching womens sport. I just hate the automatic assumption that all women only care about the eye candy.

ah no, I'm not that bad. I do like the sport itself and will watch any match. However, I will freely admit that I do like eyeing up some of the talent too. I do that in the canteen at work, but that doesn't mean to say I'm not enjoying my lunch as well.

Haha nicely put. That is why women are so good at multi tasking. Besides I find it fun trying to wind up guys whilst watching rugby matches through knowing more than them and checking out the talent just a little un-slyly :P!
