Re: Manager of the Year...so far
Alan Pardew for me. Considering all the abuse he was getting when he was appointed as well. He's bought fantastically well with the likes of Cabaye & Tiote forming I think the 2nd/3rd best midfield partnership in the Premier Leauge.
And the signing of Demba Ba was inspired as well. He had a good record at West Ham but I never expected him to score as many goals as he has this season. Stoke must be kicking themselves for not gambling on him.
After him; it's got to Rogers or Lambert.

So far, and based on what was expected of them, I'd have to agree with GG's list, with Redknapp close behind in 4th.
Under-performance has to be AVB, although in his defence he is still trying to manage someone elses team, and one that needs some serious refreshing.

Pardew for me they Newcastle are up there with Arsenal and Liverpool just now. I would go for Rogers just ahead of Lambert just for the way Swansea play.

Lambert for me.
Norwich have played effective football all season and have come away with some admirable performances.
Rodgers as a close second, Swansea play fantatic football for a promoted side and unlike clubs before them, have got points for it.

Sven Goran Eriksson has the be the manager of the Millennium. That man has amassed an absolute fortune while being the most average manager. He must hypnotize chairmen when applying for a job.

I think Pardew deserves major credit for his work at Newcastle, and while both Lambert and Rodgers are doing well with promoted sides, I think how Pardew has managed the pressure at Newcastle has been fantastic.
His signings have been excellent, his players work hard and genuinely seem to like him, and he plays decent football too.

1) Brendan Rogers.
Swansea have the 6th best passes made in EUROPE. So much for a little team from Wales being the joke of the PL. Fully living up to the hype he had when he was at Chelsea. Winning at a canter.
2) Alain Pardeux.
C'est manifique! Pards has done a brilliant job. Even when we've been poor we grind out results. Shrewd moves in the transfer market and tactically astute.
3) Paul Lambert.
Done a fantastic job at Norwich. They play good, attacking football and have become a real threat both home and away.

Pardew for me, but I am biased.
Rogers has done a decent job at Swansea, they play some nice stuff.
Lambert moves down for me for backing his player who clearly cheated to get Barton sent off.

Have you ever heard a manager not back his player? Surely that makes Sir Alex a bad manger for backing Rooney through all his scandals!

You say that but England haven't reach any quarter finals since he left and have looked less likely to win anything. While Leicester haven't exactly motored up the league in recent weeks have they.lorus59 wrote:Sven Goran Eriksson has the be the manager of the Millennium. Mancini
Lambo's been great as has Pardew. If Norwich stay up, Lambo will deserve plaudits and if Newcastle get a European spot then Pardew will deserve a knighthood.

To be honest if most managers in Premiership had the money and resources available that Mancini does then they could win the league. (Except Steve Kean)

And Mark Hughes apparently.
And I suppose Claudio Raneri, Avram Grant and Scolari are candidates.

The managers with the most money should be doing all the things quoted. The best managers are the ones who dont have a budget yet perform consistently well. David Moyes for example. I think this year Pardew and Lambert have excelled and their teams are doing well.

Genuinely think I could have a team top on the PL with unlimited funds. Not exactly a hard job is it.

I dont care if managers will back there players, still doesnt make it right.
Lambert backing a cheat lowers my opinion of him. Still doing a good job though hense the top 3 spot.

The point was that Hughes had the same resources as Mancini. It just appears that Mancini has bought better and uses the players better.

I know he hardly got touched but he hardly cheated like some people would. Barton went down like he'd been shot against Arsenal. Many Premier League players would have fallen and started rolling on floor (I'm talking to you Suarez)

hughes was trying to build the team
mancini bought big and hoped for the best and has only just got them starting to work together, hughes would be topof the league if he was managing citeh right now

Hughes' signings are no where near as good as Mancini's.
The only really good signing Hughes made was Vincent Kompany, but he has only come good under Mancini's leadership. The real core of the team right now is Joe Hart, Vincent Kompany, Yaya Toure, David Silva and Sergio Aguero. Three of those players were bought by Mancini, one by Hughes.

Alan Pardew.
With what he came into last season and was almost under-fire from the start. Has had to cope with Newcastle being a selling club and has forged a squad that have shown quality on the field and also a great team spirit, despite the off field sagas.

Pardews always been a good manager just has a habit of saying stupid things amd messing it up
His only problem is stopping Ashley from going and screwing up all his good work especially now theyre saying Ba has a release clause which is under 10million which is pretty stupid

Difference being that Mancini can attract the bigger players that Hughes couldnt because Citeh are now in europe and have better players in the team. Class attract class...

Re: Manager of the Year...so far
Lambert, Rodgers and Pardew, in that order. I'm mildly biased - Norwich are my second team and my Dad supports Swansea so always had a soft spot for them. But on their own merit, currently both in the top half, what more can you say? Both sides play great football too and seem fairly fearless. Pardew's done really well at Newcastle, I have to admit after Hughton's dismissal I was livid, but he's made the team his own and got them filled with confidence.
Mancini obviously deserves mentioning, but I have a sneaking suspicion that City are more reliant on one or two other players than some other sides. Without Silva they look shorn of creativity, and if Aguero stops banging in the goals then they could have problems further down the line. He's done a good job so far though; blank cheques or not, it takes skill to manage that many personalities.
