First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of Nigel Walker, Stephen Ferris, and Planet Rugby's team of the round above the bar!

Spoiler:

Ale cuppa coffee mug guinness cider raspberry RedWine Bubbly

And morning all (just!).

The latest rumours are doing the rounds about Scarlets players that are being targetted by other clubs. The most latest: Gloucester are looking to sign Stephen Jones. All I can say is, hands off him! boxing

If that's the case, why the Flip are they starting F Priestland! I'd bugger off if I was him as well, especially since its cost him his place in the Welsh squad!

na na Glas, Stevo should stay. Would love for us to get a full season out of him being with the Scarlets full time, help bring the likes of Jordan Williams through, Wellies has still got to much to offer us.

I'm not saying he hasn't, I agree whole heartedly that he has. I'm saying that for those very reasons we should have looked after him better and that if he decides to go I for one won't blame him one jot.

Shovey, would be slightly surprised if Glaws took him - they've re-signed Freddie Burns and have Tim Taylor as a pretty decent back-up

Can't blame him no, but I would be very upset if he did go, those 2 seasons when he was out in France were horrible. And I think we have looked after him, no? He's started in a HEC match and quite a few LV, he's also played in every HEC match also (even if Nige has been leaving it a bit late to bring him on).

This is the best day of work ever. I spent last hour drawing up Heineken Cup permutations and checking as to whether we could need any tours.

Glas, think he'd walk into many, but not Glaws - those two are both v talented youngsters, perhaps if Basil was looking for a mentor to them?

I was surprised until I read this:

http://www.thisisgloucestershire.co.uk/Kingsholm-chiefs-make-ex-Lion/story-14972162-detail/story.html

Then again, Stevo is always linked with a move away (usually to Tigers), and it never happens. So who knows, hopefully just a bit of gossip, and it stays that way!

The Munster matches I'll agree with, and perhaps the 2nd Saints one (I know I wanted Stevo to start that one). Rhys P played a brilliant game away to Saints, not sure how Stevo would have bettered that.

ah sure, I've not had a proper holiday in well over 2 years, figured I could do with a break, so why not spend more time in a place I've always wanted to visit? add in the rugby and tis perfect for me!

Ah we need to be planning in advance. If any of the Irish provinces are away it opens up possibilities for us. Personally I think that we are looking at:

Leinster v Cardiff Blues
Munster v Harlequins
Saracens v Clermont Auvergne
Toulouse v Edinburgh

Doesn't look like I will be there Glas. I had requested two tickets but only one was available. As it was for myself and my son-in- law on a one day round trip I decided not to go for a single ticket. He is trying to secure a couple of tickets via his contacts but no word yet.

Do not worry about the bet. I will honour this if the result is in your favour. Mail order will be employed if necessary.

Whilst I would be gutted, that can't be a bad move for him, move away, play in the Jeff, learn the coaching job and make your mistakes there and ride back to take the Scarlets mantle form Nigel and then the Wales and Lions jobs in time. Adam Jones said he'd make a good coach and I am one am not going to argue with him.

Its not that there is no hope for Ulster, just think that Clermont are likely to win. I'm trying to think about whats likely.

We had to include permutations where Munster are away and Ulster made it through also though.

This is my most likely draw though. Nothing in the HEC ever goes according to script.

My 3 teams that would drop into the Amlin BTW are Ulster, Leicester and Ospreys.

The two best runners up qualify for the Heineken Cup, the next three best runners up qualify for the Amlin. 3rd gets nothing.
