Gloucester - Toulouse teams announced etc etc
First topic message reminder :
GLOUCESTER
May - Sharples, Tindall, Fuimaono-Sapolu, Simpson-Daniel - Burns, Lawson - Narraway (cap), Qera, Stroskoch - Brown, Hamilton - Harden, Lawson, Wood
bench: Dawidiuk, Murphy, Knight, James, Cox, Lewis, Mills, Trinder
guess that's more or less Glaws 1st team as it looks like the one against Quins last weekend.
local insight is welcomed...
TOULOUSE
Médard - Matanavou, Jauzion, Poitrenaud, Donguy - Beauxis, Burgess – Picamoles, Dusautoir (cap), Nyanga - Albacete, Maestri - Johnston, Servat, Steenkamp
Remplaçants : Tolofua, Human, Poux, Lamboley, Doussain, Bouilhou, Clerc, Sowerby
Fritz is out injured after the Connarcht game, so are McAlister and David ! Clerc is very uncertain so not so confident anymore with this backline... also their flight today was cancelled due to a dodgy plane so the away trip is not starting nicely!
my prediction: still a tight win for Toulouse but no TBP ... thoughts?

you seem to have it in for any Saints, mate. Foden is easily the starting fullback for England. Others should get a chance, but thisnis the way it is.wales606 wrote:And from what I have seen, Foden is the least impressive

Game Over. Will it shake up the Heineken Cup?

You can't have been seeing much of Foden recently, he's been in superb form of late.
May's first choice position isn't FB, he prefers centre, then wing, then FB.

Well, May just got MOTM beating Toulouse
Goode got MOTM when I saw Saracens beat Biarritz
And Brown is player of the month for December.

What a superb game, one of the best I have seen this season.
If Connacht win in Galway then Ulster are through to the 1/4s even if they lose tommorow.

They're all playing well, but you don't just pick players because of an impressive game or two. Foden is consistently the best English full back. Brown has been excellent too and May/Goode have certainly put their hands up. It's Foden's shirt at the mo, but the competition is getting fierce.wales606 wrote:doctor_grey wrote:you seem to have it in for any Saints, mate. Foden is easily the starting fullback for England. Connacht just beat Harlequins
So Toulouse go through with 2 defeats on their sheet.

Toulouse are very lucky to be going through, they'll probably turn on the style in the quarters now and hammer whoever they get.

It's feast or famine isn't it? A few tight-heads playing with that sort of form wouldn't go amiss either

very lucky losers tonight indeed, they might end up going to dublin or limerick though!
that was a huge rollercoaster tonight and I feel empty.
but before I go: a very big thank you Connacht and tough luck Quins...

Unless there are a few strange results tomorrow then Toulouse will go through as worst of group winners so an away quarter awaits them

I could not be more proud to be a Glaws supporter! Epic, epic game. The forwards were outstanding, they were up against it all game and never gave in. The backs were even better! So much pace and intent. That was genuinely one of the best games I have ever witnessed at Kingsholm. That performancr should set us up well for the rest of the season.
Bad luck to Quins, but well done to Connacht too. And good luck to Toulouse for the rest of the HC.

Well done Glos! I could hardly believe it when I saw the score last night, it does make our loss all the more gutting though.
I'm starting to wonder if we need an option of having a second playmaker at 12 at Quins, it's all down to Evans otherwise and last night JTH looked pretty average.

I'm gutted for you Yappy, the conditions looked shocking.
I know what you mean about another creative player, we are always a different side when EFS plays. One IC you can't have though is 36, he's ours now!!

HKC,
Welcome to our world lol, everyone thinks Connacht are an easy touch but not when 99% ( ) of the time the weather is like.

Congrats on signing 36 HK! I think he'll be perfect for you guys.
Burns, Sharples, 36, Trinder, Phillips/JSD, May.
That's a pretty deadly backline! A huge amount of rw talent and speed mixed with the experience of Phillips or JSD. Now all you need is a quality 9.
