Your Perfect Five Fight Card for 2012? Empty Your Perfect Five Fight Card for 2012?

Ok,

So we are not going to get this, but let us dream a little.

A new year dawns on the sport of boxing, and before we get knee deep in controversy and fights that don’t live up to the hype, let us put together the perfect card.

If you were picking, who would you throw together and why. Style match ups, P4P battles or unifications. Whatever you like.

5 fights in this calender year?

Mine are as follows

Froch v Kessler II – Notts Forest ground, huge action fight and a way back for Froch.
Mayweather v Pac- I know I know.
Morales v Maidana II - Big Morales fan, why not see what he has left with two eyes.
Ortiz v Berto II - This one we are getting, can't wait
Martinez v Alvarez - Sergio deserves a huge fight and this would be a great spectacle

Now for yours?

Oooow great card manos! Very strong. Shows there are decent fights out there. Would love Burns v Mitchell on a domestic level, and Matthyse v Rios at 140

Yeah domestically ideally I would like to see Burns v Mitchell as you say, but also maybe Murray v Rees which would be a good no holds barred scrap. Quig v Frampton also and possibly something including Macklin/Murray/Barker assuming Martinez takes care of Macklin.

Rios v Maidana or Morales would be a scrap aswell and would also like to see Povetkin step up against a Klitschko this year aswell given options are so limited for the brothers.

Mayweather V Pacquiao (obvious choice I know)
Bute v Ward (final unification of 168 belts)
Broner v Gamboa (winner makes moves to the upper regions of P4P rankings)
Alvarez v Cotto/Williams (time for Canelo to be taking on the best at 154)
Bradley v Rios (another unbeaten challenge for Tim at 140 as Rios can no longer make 135).

On the domestic front
Quigg v Frampton
Price v Fury
Burns v Mitchell
Khan v Brook
Degale v Groves II

Ward v Bute
Wlad v Povetkin
Alvarez v Cotto
Mayweather v Manny
Khan v Petersen

Am sure there are countless better fights out there but don't get to see too much of the international stuff so am not going to get all excited about a fight between two guys I have never seen.

Floyd Mayweather/Manny Pacqiuao - Headlining

Audley Harrison/Tyson Fury - What!? I think it would be interesting!
Vitali Klitschko/Alexander Povetkin
Ricky Burns/Kevin Mitchell
Donaire/Gamboa
Alvarez/Cotto

Obviously this would never happen, but I would dearly love it to.
