India have been outplayed, slaughtered, tonked and utterly owned by Aus this series.

Ponting's 6th double century... 5th in Oz.
Hope he can get past his previous best of 257.

Sehwag's and Dravid's rotten series continue. Dravid (The Wall) bowled again.

4-0 is on the cards.
WILL TEST CRICKET DIE A SLOW DEATH IN INDIA, or will it be so quick that we won't feel a thing?

Indian cricket will be back again but they have had a horrible time. They have gone from the best team in the world to being possibly whitewashed by England and Oz in the space of a year. Crushing simply crushing.
I hate this as well as those darned Aussies will get some confidence from this.

Nothing worse than those jumped up Aussies getting confidence....
Seriously though, it is good to see them playing some great cricket.

Re: Australia v India: 4th Test, Adelaide
Problem with Aussie confidence it has a knock on effect.
you had Ponting down, now he is back and his confidence turns into a personal belief of invincibility.
Once he gets going and you add Clarke to that middle order, they will pound your bowlers into submission over the course of a few tests.
Fortunately some teams do have a better mental fortitude than India.
But still.

True Biltong, the Aussies are the best team in the world at letting the confidence out. Ponting is a great batsmen and was close to being dropped but this series has given him a new lease on life and his batting will be very good again for a while.

Re: Australia v India: 4th Test, Adelaide
Bryce Who? Isn't he getting mugged by those school kids outside the washrooms?
We've had a pretty torrid time the last year or so... maybe a bit longer (by our standards) so it's good to see the confidence rebuilding.
However, we will still need to replace Punter, Hussey at some stage.
Whether they are still in fine form in 12-18 months time remains to be seen but I'd be wary of getting too far ahead of ourselves at this stage. This India side is nowhere near a No.1 side any more and Australia has a lot of hard work ahead if they want to get back to the top of the perch again.
61/2 at the close of play.

I dont think that you Aussies will bat again this series breaker. I think that India are done and dusted.
They may not be the #1 team anymore but they are no mugs and your guys have whiped the bar with them. Well done.

No key needed here mate. Just roll up like everyone else. Oh, unless you are a trouble-maker; in which case, things can get difficult.
(I've seen your strategic comments on the other thread. As subtle as a sledgehammer but so true nonetheless.)
Billy, so I guess that helicopter ride over the North Sea is out of the question for me now... unless you have some evil plan in mind.

As you both know - we are gracious winners and even more humble losers compared to England and SA fans.

The almost unnoticeable subtle reference to Australia getting back to No.1 again on the Pakistan-England thread.

Rhinoceros in a chinese lantern shop?
Yeah, maybe I should work on my subtelty and my diplomacy.
I never found it quite so satisfactory to send someone to hell and making them look forward to the trip.
It tends to go over the heads of some, and then they don't notice your intent.
Straight shooting with a subtle twist weems to work much better.
But then again......

Re: Australia v India: 4th Test, Adelaide
You call it as you see it (and damn the consequences!) which is always good and funny to read.
My biggest worry is whether we can bowl India out twice again. I hope so.
The wicket looked so placid this morning with Punter and Clarke in total control... then the wickets began to fall; more because of tiredness, poor judgment (Hussey) and the odd good piece of work from the Indian bowlers.
I've got a feeling there might be some resistance tomorrow but they should be able to enforce the follow on some time on Day 4... or late Day 3 if they can run through the order. Oz bowlers have to play as well as the last 3 Tests and keep hammering away hoping the errors will come at regular intervals.

we do have to admit, they had a lean time of it for a while. Remember how much flak they got on old 606 when they lost their ranking?

Re: Australia v India: 4th Test, Adelaide
Fair enough... each to their own I guess. We've had similar gripes with certain refereeing decisions over the years but you have to move on and hope the IRU can enforce better standards (trying to) and that the referee involved realises their own performance must improve or be more consistent (not sure about that... you'd know more about it than me) It will even out in the future unfortunately for us and I'm sure that day in Wellington will fade from your memory - slightly.
OK. Back to the cricket. Dinner went down well for both teams and they'll all be tucked in bed shortly. No controversies in this series... thus far.

We must never forget the fallen my friend.
Or referees.
We have to honour the fallen and remind our great grand children of the injustices.

They're not dead are they?
They'll dust themselves off and make amends next time - as opposed to the fallen (in war) who do not have that option.
It's only sport, fcs.
