Anyway, I'm not going to dilly Dali about Rolf Harris.
How about Archie Moore ?

Stop with the WUM agenda, Windy. Harris would have rendered Hart a has-been.
And sorry to say, Moore isn't the name I'm after either.

Not La Motta either, Jeff. One final clue; the guy I'm after was a Welterweight and Middleweight champion, who also fought for the Light-Heavyweight title. Surely only a matter of time, now!
And Windy, enough of all the art and paint jokes now, ok? You're laying it on a bit thick.

Potter was a wizard in the ring, jeff, and he DID exist.
I've seen him in colour.

While your humour is always appreciated Jeff, it's Ghosty who takes the spoils. Walker was the name I was looking for.

Fair point Windy, not sure you're fooling anyone though by suggesting you've seen a Harry Potter film

Okay, mate, you've rumbled me.
But I did HEAR about him being on TV. Close enough ?
Mickey Walker was daft enough to marry three women twice ? Nobody could accuse him of not doing rematches.

Wasn't that the original script for Rocky IV?
Anyway - have you been sneaky here Scott and are you referring to Benny Leonard dying whilst refereeing?
Ignore me, too slow

Struggling to come up with any great questions, but will give it a go.
Who was the oldest man ever to win a Middleweight title (as in, his age whe he actually won his first 160 lb belt)?

OK.
First time question, so forgive me if its been done before.
An old timer question -
Where was the first evidence for boxing (using gloves) in antiquity discovered and from when did it date?

John Broughton participated in some contests with 'mufflers' in 1741 and thereafter after introducing the first basic set of boxing rules, is that what you're after, Oxring?

More along the lines of Scott - but it wasn't the Greeks - although it was close...

Re: Pass the Parcel Quiz.
OK. Rubbish question (apologies - it was my first)
It was in Santorini, Minos, on a wall fresco (I believe), 1600BC - where 2 young gloved individuals are shown boxing.
Older references to fist-fighting in the East, including Sumeria etc. However to my knowledge this is the oldest thing that actually looks like modern boxing.
May I substitute the following question:
Who holds the record for most consecutive knockouts?

Well done Windy.
1958-1960, 44 KOs.
What was he thought of as a boxer (given you witnessed that incredible run?)

Ha !
Not quite, mate.
As far as I know, though, most folks recognised that his opposition in amassing his run was pretty mediocre, though he had been considered a hot prospect early on.
Variation on the theme. Who holds the record for most FIRST ROUND knockouts ?

Re: Pass the Parcel Quiz.
You're probably right, Ghosty.
It's a snippet I remember reading a few years back and, since Briggs is still active I'd guess he's added some in the meantime.
Which fighter holds the record for the most official draws ?

Odd question this but what slightly macabre thing links the following fighters, Benny Leonard, Johnny Dundee, Mike McTigue and Abe Attell?

Oddly enough, I was going to post this earlier, but decided against it as I thought nobody would figure it out!
They fought in bare feet, in the middle of a rain storm. Also, the fight took place over the (then) unusual distance of twelve, rather than fifteen, rounds.
