Ospreys Obituary - ?? 2003 to 22nd Jan 2012
The Ospreys formerly the Neath-Swansea Ospreys were a professional rugby union team from Wales, They did play in the Pro 12, Anglo-Welsh Cup, and the Heineken Cup/European Challenge Cup. At the start of the 2005–06 season, they dropped the Neath-Swansea prefix from their name and are simply known as the Ospreys.
The Ospreys were one of the five original clubs of the Welsh Regional Rugby Era. The club came into being in the summer of 2003 when the WRU controversially elected to reduce the current top tier of Welsh professional rugby from nine clubs into five regions, attempting to mirror the successful formats in Ireland and the Southern Hemisphere.
The Ospreys represented Neath Port Talbot, Swansea, and areas of the Upper Swansea Valley. The team was initially created as a partnership between the area's two most successful clubs – Neath RFC and Swansea RFC.
However as time ticked on the Ospreys became a poor shadow of themselves once the best players/coaches abandoned ship it was only a matter of time before they disappeared for good.
On the 22nd January the Ospreys attempted to tackle the might of a struggling Biarritz team on their turf, if only they knew what was about to hit them then maybe they could have cried off and re-arranged the fixture, but for once they decided to play on, an England/Bath reject called Iain Balshaw also twisted the knife as the life slipped away from the Ospreys, even a Baby scored!
Please feel free to leave your memories of the Ospreys here.

How much time did HERSH spend in Gnoll Park Road doing his research? I would swear he has been a Neath fan since the early 90's.

I felt that a WUM post should be responded to in a similarly WUM-my fashion. But yes, in the last round of group matches I believe the Ospreys still had a mathematical chance of some progression while Bath had none. Therefore, they got a bit closer to qualifying and therefore did a bit better than Bath.
The fact the HERSH feels the need to pick on one team (not my team by the way) when many didn't qualify, just so that he can look 'hard', is the measure of the man. Not long til he's banned I suppose...

Sorry Griff
Should have put a smiley
HERSH will never be banned as he takes the urine, but never goes to far and gets abusive to others

HERSH will never get satisfaction, because when the Ospreys are doing bad, Bath are doing worse.
Crashed out of the heineken cup but still flying in the Pro12. When did Bath last lead the premiership???

That is a classic, but why would I be banned for having a sense of humour, after the season Bath's having us die 'hard' Bath fans need one.
