Ulster make inquiry about Currie Cup place
It was reported today in the papers that Ulster management have made inquiries with the SARFU to see if they could enter the currie cup as a way of preperation for the HC quarter final against Munster. They were of course after forgetting that the currie cup is run during the summer months...
A disappointed Ulster spokesman Willem vanheemskerk said to reporter "ja die boys are verry disappointed det they arint able to compete in their home competitie, en they would have been able to have a little bezoek (visit) with their families and kids. Its tough that nearly 14 of the starting team are from de veldt, but you know we are doing our best for bok rugby". At this point there was some consultation with a colleague and the spokesman added..."for clarification I meant Ulster and of course Scottish rugby. We do have one All Black and some guy called Humphries in de team also".
When asked about the quarter final van Heemskerk said "ja de boys are all looking forward to a trip to Germany, some of them with Namibian backgrounds would have family over there and are thinking of looking them up".

By the time the quarter final at Thomond comes around, both sets of fans are going to be exhausted by the incessant banter over the next 2 months!!!

Two months of sh*te like this and Gavin Henson articles. (Look he kicked a ball well!) I think I'm going to keep away until May.

One of the funny things about this is there will be as many Saffers in the Munster line up as the Ulster line up next year - if rumours are to be believed

Let's hope Munster have more luck keeping their SA imports (and ergo scrum) than their Australian ones, eh? A contract extension turned down by the incandescent Will Chambers... Surprising particularly given his familiarity with an important cornerstone of the Munster ethos - being told what to do on the pitch by an Australian.
