The atmosphere this Sunday

Last night I was watched the 2008 Royal Rumble match. All I can I say is Wow! Great drama, great comebacks (snuka, piper, foley) Cena's return at number 30.



For me though, the crowd is what made that match, they were awesome, as Madison Square Garden always is. Can we expect the same this Sunday,, or was that just unique to MSG?

Often on TV I don't think the actual atmosphere comes across very well, when perhaps in the arena it is good.

I think a rumble will always get a crowd hot though, the mix of the comebacks, nostalgia and constant throwing of people over the top rope is enough to keep interest.

The layout of MSG helped alot before the changed it. The crowd were always dead close to the action.

Then they changed it so its just another generic arena....

My only worry is that the crowd will be dead until hometown hero Orton appears (see Royal Rumble 1997 as an example).

Having said that, St. Louis is one of the great Professional Wrestling cities so I'm sure the atmosphere will be spot on.
