Huge swerve at Rumble

There has been a lot of talk on the dirtsheets that there will be a huge swerve on Sunday night. CM Punk sent an interesting tweet earlier which said 'ready for the rumble #bornheel'.

Shall we read anything into that? We know how much these guys like to play the internet.

They seem to have mentioned this anyone can win the Rumble a lot in recent weeks with most emphasis on Punk. So I certainly understand why the dirtsheets are high on talking it up.

If there were to be a swerve though, I honestly don't have a clue what the 'E could pull out of the bag.

the wwe and whc can be in the royal rumble would be my guess

I've worked it out its Santino that will win the rumble, he's even on the poster.

The swerve will be that there is no swerve!

I suppose Punk could get screwed by John Laurinitus, in his match with Ziggler, and then that would free him up to compete and win the Rumble.

Afterall alot has been made of JL being the guest referee, and he has openly admitted his intentions of screwing Punk, and as in previous years, the losers of world title matches on the Rumble card tend to get a spot in the Rumble.

And if Punk was in the Rumble, you would have to say he would be one of the favourites.

I really dont think this will happen but just an idea, with how much drew mcintyre winning?he has been buried on SD recenlty being told he needs to up his game could a big swerve be that he manages to win the rumble? i know he has been on an awful run the last year or so but he was the chosen one at one point! again i dont think its likely but just putting the idea out in the open!!

WM = time to unify so Punk wins rumble and then takes on Bryan at WM

Also, Punk was interviewed recently and said that the Rumble would be as good as it is normally is because he wasn't in it. He then said he would just be looking to steal the show with Ziggs instead.

I'd mark out like crazy if we had Punk v Bryan at WM!!!!

Depending on the order of the event, if Ziggler beats Punk and then Punk wins the Rumble, it would be quite a shake-up at the top of the roster. I don't think many people saw Ziggler being in a championship match come WM, so that means a short reign and losing it at the next PPV.

If Ziggler is champion come WM, I can only guess that the plan is for HHH to be involved somehow. Then we have to remember the returning Orton (who was odds on with most of the guys on here to win on Sunday). I suppose HHH screws Punk and Orton wins the Rumble.

Then we have Jericho....there have been rumours that he could win the Rumble and instead of going for gold, ask for a streak match against the Undertaker

If any of these scenarios happen, I can see the top order of WM being either:

Punk v HHH/Jericho
Undertaker v Jericho/HHH

Then possibly a Heel Bryan against Face Orton for the WHC,

All things considered, this tweet has just added to the feeling that this is one of the most open Rumbles in years.

I can't see Bryan going into Wrestlemania as world champion, I'd expect Orton to have won it by then. Then we might possibly see Orton vs. Barrett.

I still think that there are a lot of people more deserving for a world title match at Wrestlemania than Daniel Bryan, Sheamus and The Miz have both been much better over the past six months than Bryan. Sure, he's been booked badly, but part of the blame has to lie with him.

I think Bryan as champ is doing fantastic, the heel persona is great, the intensity of hate the crowd are showing when the person he's up against is the vacuum of emotion that is Big Show shows that Bryan has it bang on.

how about have Jericho come out at like number 16 , have him run round cheering the crowd and then go back up the ramp and leave ..

then have Punk make the surprise in the rumble becoming the last man to be in it , everyone cheering as his won then lights out , blue jacket , etc Jericho comes in and goes in and faces punk as he has not been eliminated from the rumble yet .. Jericho wins and Challenges Punk etc

With everybody expecting lauranitus to screw punk, how about HHH turns up in the middle of the wwe title match (johnny is refusing to count after a punk hits the gts) , he pedigrees johnny but then turns on Punk and pedigrees him as well, then has a refs top underneath and counts punks shoulders to the mat

I'm not sure you picked up on the '#bornheel' comment from Punk. Implying that he was born as a heel. Huge swerve - Punk heel turn? This is what my point was.

Problem with that is that he will still get cheered even if he is a heel. His persona currently can be described a heelish. I don't see how he can swerve at the Rumble. He would need to beat a fan favourite, which are not in huge numbers at the Rumble. Even then it is not a huge swerve. Only thing that could justify that would be siding with Johnny Ace.....but again can't see that happening.

What exactly would a swerve need to consist of so we can suddenly think that Punk is playing a heel? I can't think of anything.

Jericho will be Lauranitis's 'text buddy' and cost Punk.

I just can't see any logical Punk heel turn at the Rumble.

I'm sure #bornheel is what is down the front of Dolph Ziggler's jacket when he comes in to the arena....

So CM Punk tweeting this may be a statement of the two of them stealing the show at the rumble

Well, looks like this 'huge swerve' didn't materialise after all then. Or did I miss something?
