Does anyone know if the same presenters, commentators and pundits will be working for the Beeb this year as last?
As a few of them, like Guscott and Inverdale I find absolutely shocking.

Re: BBC
I have to admit I just find Jonathan Edwards annoying and is the worst Pundit on TV.. Guscott is also useless..
Brian Moore is superb along with Eddie Butler...
The nest Pundit on TV is Dean Ryan who talks with so much sense and understanding of the game...

Re: BBC
I really like Healy, hes one of the few whos actually allowed ( able?) to make any kind of real tactical insight into teh game. They sometimes have that Welsh chap doing the same, ill be honest...I cant understand much of what he says ( and Im Wales qualified)
I hope they have him back on the beeb for this anyway, I enjoy his ESPN stuff.
Dalliligio has got a lot better, hes no longer just an advert for leather jackets and chin products. On the ITV world cup coverage of France Wales he did make a valiant atempt to talk about something other than the Warburton red card at half time, so points for that.
Hopefuly they will have refreshed the stock of blonde fluff and come up with some badly worded questions for them.
Moore is great, I hope they dont do with him what they have with many presenters of others shows and encourage him to be a charecature of himslef though. Its not the same when its forced.
Hopefuly they will pick a Frenchie who has some vague ability to speak English.

Re: BBC
InverDULL will be heading up the Beeb I guess so god help us. Then we have whats her name Irvine do pitchside reports.
Depsite being the player who most probably scored more tries against Wales than anyone else I wish the Beeb would try and poach Greenwood as I do like him as a pundit.
Butler and Moore will be doing all the games that the Beeb deem big I guess.

From pre the last 6Ns:
John Inverdale is the main host and is joined by fellow presenters Gabby Logan and Jason Mohammed. Commentators are Eddie Butler, Andrew Cotter and Alastair Eykyn, with Jonathan Davies, Phillip Matthews, Brian Moore and Andy Nicol as co-commentators. The pitch-side reporting team includes Jill Douglas, Sonja McLaughlan and Graham Thomas.
John, Gabby and Jason are also joined by studio analysts Colin Charvis, Lawrence Dallaglio, Jonathan Davies, Jeremy Guscott, Andy Nicol and Keith Wood.

Who the hell is Jonathan Edwards?? Jiffy on the other hand gets on my nerves along with Guscott and Dayglo. For me it's Lynagh, Fitzpatrick, Phillip Matthews and Brian Moore - Quinnell is also ok. Inverdale is a complete twax and as for Sonia whatever, just get that clueless woman off the rugby channell!!

God knows why I said Jonathan Edwards as I meant Jonathan Davies probably the worst and most annoying person on TV... For me the best line up would be; Brian Moore, Will Greenwood, Fitzpatrick, Dean Ryan, Austin Healey, Eddie Butler and Ieuan Evans.

Usually the BBC have "No Commentary" on their red button. They do the best commentary I think. Half time is the perfect chance to make a cup of tea (have a slash)

I remember during the World Cup ITV had Thom? Evans on. When Scotland got knocked out they said "Well that's goodbye to Thom then" [while he was there]. Basically admitting he was the token Scotsman

Inverdale is useless - but I do enjoy the look of shock that he manages to produce every time England turn out yet another abject performance. You'd think by now he would be less surprised. It's worth putting up with the English bias just to watch him squirm.

Well, Inverdale was actually a keen rugby player - much prefer that to a slick presenter who has never played the game. I played against him a couple of times - don't remember him being any good though!

Re: BBC
I actually like Cotter & Matthews, think Cotter has gone to ESPN.
Do like it when there is a commentator from each team thats playing.
Moore & Butler are ok, nothing to write home about.
Inverdale is a clown.
The woman on the touchline are a joke to(no offence ladies ).
Dont mind Gabby Logan.
Dont mind Guscott, Jiffy & Woody.

Cotter was with ESPN during the World Cup as cover. I heard him on their since I don't think. Maybe he's there first call if there's a clash.
I'd rather the host was a decent host rather than a keen rugby man. The host's job is the keep things moving along the right lines. The pundits are their to talk rugby

Re: BBC
I have no problem with John Inverdale. He knows his rugby and he's articulate, which are the prerequisites. Yes, he gets more excited about England than he does about any other team in the tournament, but so what? He's an Englishman, of course he'll be more interested in his own national side.
They need to give Sonja McLaughlin and Colin Charvis the heave-ho.

Re: BBC
Inverdale is both a professional broadcaster and a proper rugby man, still involved with Esher now ( although teh state they are in Im not sure that too good on your CV!)
He does say some banal things at times, but thats his job as much as it is for teh Sky team to engage in ludircous hyperbole. The presenters have to cater to the casual audience, and get given a list of talking points at the production meeting.
His manner seems to annoy a lot of people, but thats partly just a deep ingrained hatred of anything vaguely English and posh a good part of the internet has. Hes a hell of a lot better than some of the people they have on ITV.

Just seen on BBC that Shane Williams is working with them during the 6 Nations which is good news! A great player and a good rugby brain.
Agree with people on Greenwood aswell would love to see him come over from Sky. One of the smartest rugby brains out there and gets his points across well.

Re: BBC
Jill Douglas & Sonja McWhatever are two of the most pointless people in the coverage. They ask ridiculously dull questions which have no relativity to the actual game. Need to get that woman from ESPN's coverage of the Jeff in, isn't she Simon Easterby's wife? She actually asks about the game and thoughts.

It's not just you, Mitey. A redesign's counterproductive if it makes a website harder to read, let alone navigate.

I think theres a dedicated discussion for thsi but Ill post here iwth youi as its the one iM reading.
It appears everyone is now desperatly trying to copy the god awful dailymail sites design of lpots of pictures and long headlines but very difficult navigation to what you actually want.
The yellow is a bit exccesive.
The actual content of teh site is no different really.
It would be nice if they had a fan forum to discuss sport rather than relying on twitter fits and blog comments. If they were to do their own version of 606v2 that would be great.

I suppose that makes sense for the Daily Mail - PSW, as all their readers generally want is to look at the pictures (of half naked/drunk celebrities) and read the shocking headlines - all the rest is padding

and looses the plot whenever there's a scrum - at which point he launces into a 10 minute rant about the feed not being straight or the prop not binding or the ref not having a clue - at which point the audience are slowing loosing any clue about whats going on in the game as they can't concentrate over Brians ranting.

Oh don't deny me Inverdale (actually think he's alright personally).. but even if he wasn't, there is nothing better than keeping an eye on RTE and BBC commentary to see the varying reactions to one game. It's part of the fun for me.
Guscott - cold robotic fish.
Moore - tetchy and funny to listen to.
Butler - rambling 'poet'.
Healy - Mr.FancyScarfKnot
Wood - Irish hero but inconsequential puppy-dog comments; and I can't hear most of them as he whispers through the noise behind him
Johnathan Davis - Hold it there, hold it there! Look! See that?! - Yep, I do Johnathan and I wouldn't miss it for the world.
