Skys Box Office prices
Just noticed that Sky are charging £15 to watch Amir Khan fight next month. Finding this a bit steep. I buy most boxing events including Haye v Harrison. But really think they need to look at their pricing. I paid for the magnificent 7 and King Khan and the Brit pack last year and felt they were good value for money. But Hayes last 3 fights have been against poor opposition and were £15 each. Khan vs Salita was another example of this. The £15 flat rate is poor and should be amended to the level of the 2 fighters. I know it's easy to say if you don't like it don't pay it but I want to watch the fight and I hate the hassle of trying to get a good stream and the picture quality is not as good as I get on my TV. Khan vs Mcloskey should be priced between £8-£10

I know what you mean but would never happen.
Could you imagine the banter between the boxers though i.e. the one-upmanship for having a higher priced PPV!
Basically if it's a big fight with a British fighter, it's PPV but 2 P4P boxers fight each other who are not British and it's free.
We get it quite good actually as in the US it's like $50 and many of those events we get for free!
I admit though if a champ fights a huge underdog it should be less.

Would expect a premiership team to fluctuate their prices based on who they're playing, same applies here

The problem we have is that the boxers are PPV, not the fight. Khan was down for PPV before the opponent was announced. As for the price, doesn't bother me especially if a few people want to watch it.
What bothers me more is ticket prices. Wanted them for Groves vs DeGale and near enough £60 and you are sitting in a top tier corner. I'm watching at home instead.

Nathan Cleverly is on the bill as well Scott but £60 for the cheap seats is pretty poor. That will be £15 to watch on sky as well though.

I know exactly what you mean but it aint totally free we do pay for SS subscription. The PPV works in America because of the vast size and population of the country. We don't have that PPV for big American show would not do to well in this country just the hardcore fans really.

Re: Skys Box Office prices
i suppose its better than the price of an actually ticket- i can't see how they expect normal everyday fans to be able to afford tickets to events

Re: Skys Box Office prices
15 pounds = 24 dollars ,for a pay per view thats not a bad price really,we get charged 56 bucks with tax and fees for every ppv here in the states whether its pac-shane or cotto-mayorga ,thats without the hbo/showtime subs which run 10-15 bucks a month,i think you brits are gettin a good deal, how you get the big pacman fights for free is weird

We do get it quite good over here.
Just be greatful we have world champions or you would have to pay £15 for DeGale like we did for Khan.

I don't mind using streams.
The Boxing Guru chap seems to have all the big fights on his website (in HD as well).

I live in a city centre in flats, and we put a sky dish(es) on roof that the whole block uses. No chance of that?
