Raina skies one off Mathews but not far enough. Caught in the deep by the Sub fielder Sachithra Senanayake.
India 158/4.
Kohli is the big success for India this summer. They should get the 70 odd runs required with him still at the crease.

Kohli hits a huge 6 which takes him to 77.
Then next ball is a direct hit run-out from Malinga... and it looks as though he's tweaked his hamstring going for a single that wasn't on. Being helped off the ground now. It could be cramp but he looks to be in some pain.
181/6
53 runs required off 82 balls... but only 4 wickets left.

Solid partnership between Jadeja and Ashwin eased India home comfortably in the end. Mahela was perhaps too conservative with his bowling changes during the last partnership, he should have gone for broke with his seamers and ignored that he needed 2 more overs out of his spinners until the last 2 overs.

Did he hold back an over for Malinga? Thats understandable given hes the best hope they had of rolling over the tail enders.

He did bring Malinga back initially, without success but saved him one. However it was bowling Perera and Dilshan an over each around the 43rd (when the run rate required was still touching 4 an over) that cost. Given the position SL were only going to win by bowling India out, containing wasn't an option so I'd have bowled through and let the 49th/50th overs worry about themselves when/if the time came.

Is Ashwin really 25? I mean he has no athleticism at all. Not to say he didn't play well though.
Second question, what's the point in playing Praveen Kumar ahead of Pathan or Yadav? Vinay Kumar does the same job as Praveen Kumar. Yadav bowls 150kph, and Pathan is a swing bowler all rounder, both more suited to limited overs cricket.

For the Aussies to get 231 after that start is something special. That last 40 runs could be massive

So billy are you still comfortable supporting the English so openly?
Perhaps you should be an undercover English cricket supporter.

Tharanga's dismissal just a matter of time with him constantly playing with an open face on these bouncy wickets.
Wonder how long Dilshan can last just blasting away without moving his feet.

Its all over here, Sri Lanka have imploded.
Sure Kiwi, i have too many friends and family in SA and none in NZ.
Sir Richard Hadlee is my favourite player of all time, does that count for something?

That's more like it
There were a group of kiwis dressed as Hadlee on the Waitangi Day Circle Line pub crawl on Saturday, class.

True.
And I don't much like Tui even when it is chilled.
Back at university me and some mates got quite good at getting sizeable quantities of Jim Beam into cricket matches. Then as long as the cola you bought in-ground was cold you were sorted.

And then the final wicket falls - a shame really.
46 runs for the final partnership off just 5 and a half overs - certainly what you might call "having a go"!
