NOW CAN HALFPENNY BE FIRST CHOICE PLACE KICKER?!?!?!?!?
I did a poll on it the other day and all the people here with no rugby knowledge voted Priestland to remain first choice.
Priestland is awesome, but not an international place kicker. THAT IS ALL.

I said this before the game as well. Priestland has never been a good goal kicker. Halfpenny or Hook (if he starts) need to be kicking.

Halfpenny - Grow him into the role, he isnt the best at the moment, but he could be in future.
Hooks kicking can be good, but very unreliable.

Hook use to be very good at kicking when he was doing it constantly for the O's and Wales. He hasn't really had a shot since then.
Priestland hasn't really ever been a front line kicker.

Examples please when Hook showed any consistency in kicking for Wales

What planet are you on? Halfpenny is our best goal kicker by far.

During the 08 six nations he didn't miss any kicks until the last game i think. Actually he might not have missed any i think Jones missed against France.
Before then he was also consistently kicking well for the O's and Wales. When he got shunted around to centre and fullback and became second choice to Biggar thats when his kicking went downhill. Kickers need to kick regularly

Yes, he is.
I meant the best as in he isn't the best kicker in international rugby, by a long way - He hasn't had much experience at international level so will make mistakes.

Priestland never seems to be much cop at goal kicks when he is under pressure. Also how much has he actually practiced if he has been injured?
Halfpenny is kicking well for the Blues this season and showed he has the mettle for it today. While Priestland must remain our first choice outside half Halfpenny must be our first choice goal kicker now. Missing goal kicks has cost us too often.

Could have been another "wales nearly did it" but made too many mistakes.
We are very lucky that wales can now have an abysmal lineout, miss loads of kicks and still win well away.
