Donnacha Ryan to be cited?
Surely O'Callaghan will be cited for his malicious charge on Adam Jones that led to Bradley Davies taking the law into his own hands?
It was identical to the Bakkies Botha charge on the same player which if I recall correctly received about 2 weeks:

It was Donnacha Ryan if I remember correctly. When I saw it, I thought it was just a very physical counter-ruck, but maybe I'm wrong. Anyone got any footage of it?

I'd say Ryan should probably be cited for making Davies take the law into his own hands. Reckless.

Sure why not.
Ryan will get the two week ban he deserves.
Davies will get the electric chair that he deserves.

For the record, Davies should get about 6 weeks. It's just frustrating that the incident which eld to it has rather been swept under the carpet.

Ryan was going to get it I just wish Bradley Davies had used his thick skull and not been so blatant.

He made a red card tackle and only got a yellow. So it wasn’t that blatant…

Re: Donnacha Ryan to be cited?
Chunkey can I ask, why be so clearly Wumish about the whole thing.
It would have made a top discussion as to whether there was an offence on Adam Jones and Ryan should receive a sanction.
However the tone of this whole article - referring to Ryan as "Donnacha something" and suggesting he is a "dirty *****" has ruined any chance with that.
People respond to smartalec posts with a smartalec answer and any actual talk is ruined. You aren't an unintelligent fella you know what your doing. Why go to such effort to deliberately create such a tone.

Red-Stag I can only think your sense of humour has withered after yesterday's result. I shall try and change the topic subject since it offends you so much.

It was called Donnacha O'Callaghan before he is just unsure of the real name.

Fair enough Chunky. Maybe tone is hard to convey but to me you clearly didn't mean this to be a funny article.

Re: Donnacha Ryan to be cited?
It was a strange one from Bradley, he's an abrasive player but I've never seen him as being dirty - he reacted in an emotionally charged way to Ryan taking a couple of cheap shots and he will pay for his actions with a rightful lengthy ban.

Re: Donnacha Ryan to be cited?
Bakkies Botha ran half way across the field to do his work, Ryan took 2 or 3 steps - nothing in it, vigorous counter-rucking. Surprised that Ferris even had a penalty against him tbh

Is that the rule then? The number of steps has a bearing?
Nope.

No arms. Shoulder charge on a defenseless player. Citing should occur. V Dangerous play.
Counter rucking is BINDING.

you can't bind if you get pushed off (by Davies)? Are you seeing what you want to see or viewing with an unbiased eye?

All this distracts from a cowardly attempt by Davies to purposefully break the neck of an opposition player. Ryan should be banned, probably about the 2-3 week mark would be somewhere in the range for this offence. Davies should get at the very least 6-8 weeks.

Yes we know that. Did you not read the title it says Donnacha Ryan to be cited. That means that here we are discussing wether Donnacha Ryan should be cited.

Why don't you do the 'for the record' bit before you start throwing the meat cleavers? At least then we'll know the blood gushing from our temples is nothing personal and that you realise you had an ***hole in your ranks too.

The original post is from a troll, a WUM if your prefer. It is fairly obvious he should get cited. It's a pity there is a minority of Welsh fans who have absolutely no class. Warren Gatland was embarrassed by the tackle, that was there for all to see. You should be equally embarrassed that you have fans who feel that Davies was justified because of what Ryan did. Ryan was wrong and should get cited. Davies attempted to break his neck. Let me say it again- Davies purposefully lifted a player up in the air in an attempt to seriously injure him. And you have the gall to be pedantic with me? You should be ashamed of yourself frankly. This is one of the most disgusting incidents I have seen on a rugby field in quite some time and your focus is on Ryan. Good man. You are a credit to Welsh rugby

http://www.irblaws.com/EN/laws/3/10/95/during-the-match/foul-play/dangerous-play-and-misconduct/#clause_95
Under section K which ciovers dangerous charging into a ruck or maul:
Players must not charge into a ruck or maul without binding onto a player in the ruck or maul.
Sanction: Penalty kick
Theres a video example on there. This is what Danny Care got carded for which made Jonson flip out a few years ago, what Botha did and got the whole of SA ina strop over ( I believe the sanctions were increased in 2009 along with the changes to spear tackles)
Its not legal to charge into a ruck and not bind, and is now punished with a heavy sacntion.

So you wrote 3 specific threads about Davis being bold and needing 6 weeks...or you placed 3 comments in the bowls of someone else's post admitting that 'yeah, I know - so it was a spear tackle - but he's not dirty like, just annoyed.'?
Sorry for getting it all so wrong.
