Apparently it's true unless Gatland is playing a fast one on us.
Rock on 1/2p!

Glad £00.00.5 has got his chance. Apparently he's been Wilkinson-esque in his attitude toward kicking practise.

Well why not... Preistland played much better when he had no kicking responsibilities. Who says a 10 has to be the kicker? The Aussies did ok with Eales kicking didnt they?

Have to admit you' re spot on. The moment the Priest had the kicking duties taken off him he looked refreshed. Hes a great player but his goal kicking has always been hit and miss. Thorburn was one of Wales best ever kickers and he played at full back so there should be no problem with it.
Good luck to 1/2p. Hope he can hold it together.

Re: HALFPENNY TO KICK!!!!
Joking aside Ive yet to see 1/2p land one from an acute angle. He seems a very straight kicker for me who isn't able to shape the ball in the air. Anyone else have this view?.

Re: HALFPENNY TO KICK!!!!
Halfpenny was, until this season just a long range kicker which was seen really as a bit of bonus if the ball went over from the half way line or further.
This season he has been in good form for the Blues so hopefully it will continue on Sunday if and when the need arises.

Ruby,
Morning mate, I am always wary about building our hopes up having had so many false dawns even after the successes of 05 & 08 but yeah we are looking good and seem to be developing some decent back up in most positions

Re: HALFPENNY TO KICK!!!!
Its wise to be wary of Scotland but this is a very different team to 2 years ago. The world cup has shown that the young guns play with confidence, belief and control. This was epitomised most last week not in the wonderful trys but in the way they had controlled posession from their own line in the last 2 minutes. The culture of the team has changed dramatically. They are still learning and on an upward curve and I think we have a right to be confident, I think that's different to building our hopes up. That's what we did with an average team. I'm off to play in the winter league now catch you later (Ruby - alias of the inimitable RugbyShrink)

I thought this was the case as well. Then I saw him land a couple from the touch line playing for the Blues a couple of weeks ago. Hope this form continues.
