Was tempted to go in for Sehwag right at the end, but resisted the urge. My bid for Mendis was a bit of a long shot, forced Nando into parting with a little more money though so it's all good.

Re: EPL - Season 1 - Homepage
Sorry to be a pain Gregers, but just can I confirm:
1) I do have Malinga?
2) When is the cut off for U25's? If a player is 25, does that count as under 25?
Cheers!

1) Yes, as long as the new rule makes sense
2) 25 counts as under 25 (like in football). Anyone who was born after 12/02/86

I posted my shut message as soon as my laptop said 9:00
Or we can do what we did in the IPL and keep Malinga on auction tomorrow but with only the pair of you able to bid.

Re: EPL - Season 1 - Homepage
The problem is not realising that the rule was there until it happens
I am really sorry for that, complete oversight on my part. I have now announced it.
You prized Mendis off of me tho!

Re: EPL - Season 1 - Homepage
I was going to go higher but felt that £200k was fairly high. Cracking signing for you tho.... Spinning pitch when Notts play Warks :P
Re: EPL - Season 1 - Homepage
It might have been a blessing in disguise not to have got Malinga nando! I now only have 185K for the rest of the week. Classic student forward thinking.
And I've spoken to Mr. Swann and he says a raging Bunsen Burner suits him fine!

£605k for Malinga is a huge amount
For that you could get two high quality players

Re: EPL - Season 1 - Homepage
Worth it methinks though. Malinga is the best death bowler in the world, with only Gul getting close. And with him, Broad and Swann my bowling attack is shaping up well.

What do you think to Smith and Kulasekara?
Smith always played well in England
Kulasekara can nip the ball about and good death bowler

Re: EPL - Season 1 - Homepage
Broad will miss run outs and isn't world class in t20 imo.
If it makes it better Nando I had Malunga AND Gul in the IPL and didn't make the semi finals much less win it!

Olly
Smith is quality, Kulasekara is a good fast bowler. Good signings I reckon

Re: EPL - Season 1 - Homepage
Kulasekara is a very good limited overs bowler, and definitely great value for what you got him. Smith is a solid batsman, proven in England. Could also be a very good captain.

I think there could be some battles for players tomorrow. I have my eye on a fair few players
For that matter in the IPL I also had Sachin and Dilshan!

Re: EPL - Season 1 - Homepage
currently looking at
Stirling
Gibbs
AN Other
Blackwell
Collingwood
Stokes
Read
Borthwick
Harmison
Onions/Davies
Keedy
but wondering if with all the bowling options I should look for some extra batsmen instead (Stirling, Blackwell, Stokes and Collingwood should be more than capable of getting through 8 overs between them).

Re: EPL - Season 1 - Homepage
Notts looking decent aswell:
Hales
Warner
Lumb
Taylor
Hussey, D
Samit
Wessels
Broad
Swann
Harris/Fletcher
Malinga
That will probably be by starting XI as I have no money left to add to it, but it isn't a bad unit. Looking at Sehwag in the Supplemental auction and that batting unit becomes really imposing!

At the moment I'm looking at
Martin Guptil
Joe Denly
Dale Benkenstein
Dawid Malan
Eoin Morgan
Gareth Berg
Tom Smith
Neil Dexter
John Simpson
Mitchell Claydon
Steven Finn
Still looking to buy in another seamer, and a keeper-batsman (at the moment Morgan is pretty much my reserve keeper ) but there's some decent strikers in the middle order.
