Origin of your name?
I was just looking through some peoples names and I was interested in your choice of username.
Mine is due to when I do box (no not with Kell Brook lol) I tend to jab a lot, I consider it my best punch.
I saw names like "mind the windows tino" and just wondered where some of you guys got your names out of interest?

I remember your short lived live as the Taliban but to be fair Kev could have had someone in his family killed over there and would have to look at that everyday.

Re: Origin of your name?
Mine was due to a fashion back on the old beeb board for referencing your current place of abode with something to do with boxing. Hence ox(ford)ring.
Thought it sounded a bit like "boxing" and therefore would do.
I'd have changed it for something catchier, or wittier - but alas, I'm not that memorable - and I doubt anyone would be able to work out who the hell I was.

Re: Origin of your name?
Had a mate who was a bit of a hippy liberal and he had massive issues with putting anything resembling his real name on forums or the internet so he tended to use jeffreyrowley and I kind of nicked it off him. What I didn't realise until later was jeff rowley is apparently the name of a famous skater, which makes sense as said mate was into that. However is not particularly fitting for me, because, and this may come as a shock to folk, I am not very good on a skateboard or into watching othes who are.

I was a Persian king in some sort of school play - means king of kings and my name is actually shah - so my mates never let me forget it. I got the good end of the deal though - My mates nickname is KB - even the teachers used to call him that. What they didn't know was that it stood for KillerBreath

Character name from a very old boxing game on the mega drive. Shows how lacking in inspiration I was when I signed up...
Re: Origin of your name?
Mines a quote out of the film anchorman, about a story that wasnt particulary intresting. Me and the lads at uni ended up coining it for whenever anyone gave some random piece of crap info, thought it quite apt for my posting

Wanted the name, the ghost with a hammer in his hand but the old beeb site wouldn't allow it and strangely suggest Imperial Ghosty so stuck with it, went through various name changes when I used to inhabit the man united forum as was common in the community clique.

I was prettyboykev because I'm so damn pretty and obviously a bit of a Floyd fan. Decided a change was due when he put more effort into beating up women than men so went for something a little more classy. Kev never went with SugarRay so I went with my middle name Russell.

I know but it's not what they are remembered for. I don't have the same love for Floyd I used to the whole Pac thing has tainted his legacy imo.

I'd often wondered where it came from. Odd suggestion from the beeb's engine that one.

Mine comes from horrid immaturity. Tried to use bellcheese as a name for an online game many years ago but ran out of characters so was stuck with bellchees. Used it for a few things since as it's easy to remember.

Mine is originally from when I joined the old 5 Live Boxing boards before they became 606. Infact I was one of the 1st to use the boxing boards there. Most names beginning with Welsh were taken up but WelshDevil was free, so I took that and have stuck with it ever since. I'm probably a member of most Boxing forums and always use the same name.

md_fan = middle distance fan - but now more of a boxing fan since the athletics board died. There is so much more to talk about in boxing. Who would beat who from different eras? Everyone pretty much knows that Usain Bolt would beat Jesse Owens so no discussion (unless you consider these modern training techniques and "nutrition" of course")

Re: Origin of your name?
Well my original username on 606 was Hartsons Pie Bill after one of my fave Welsh players. I then changed this for a little while to Festivus named after a religious holiday invented on Seinfeld ("A festivus for the rest of us")
I settled on Hobo eventually due to a playstation where you could build your own character and how he looks. I chose a homeless tramp and the name just stuck.
Now I use my real name, as seen at position #478 on the Forbes 500

Depends on who you believe, JM2.
My version is that it is simply an amusing piece of 'sledging' that Freddie Flintoff aimed at Tino Best in a test match in the West Indies, circa 2003. Have a look on youtube, it really is amusing, even if you don't follow cricket.
The other version, as peddled by Genius of PBF is that I am window cleaner who does all his posting from the top of a ladder.
I am happy with whichever version you want to run with, buddy.

A very under rated film imo.
Stallone acts brilliantly in it - one of the best films that showcases what a good actor he actually is. Union Cane (the character) is a bit non descript (as are most boxers) but Geroge Washington III is a great OTT promoter who makes up for it.
I liked the fact that it didnt have RB in the ring and I am so glad they didnt go with the original ending!

Agreed. Best of the lot for quotes: "You knocked him down, try knocking me down" and " "Tommy Gunn only fights in the ring" - "My ring's outside!" and of course "Touch me and I'll sue" - THWACK!
