Origin of your name?
First topic message reminder :
I was just looking through some peoples names and I was interested in your choice of username.
Mine is due to when I do box (no not with Kell Brook lol) I tend to jab a lot, I consider it my best punch.
I saw names like "mind the windows tino" and just wondered where some of you guys got your names out of interest?

Re: Origin of your name?
I used to be Prime-DeeMcK-Prime on the old 606 because I was in my prime at the time.
Then I got into a row (which I never do) with a few braindead idiots who support a certain Scottish Football team who has hilariously went bust the other day.
Words were exchanged and I was banned.
But I rose again to become Reborn!!! and swore never to let myself get drawn into other peoples stupidity.
So REBORN-DEEMCK-REBORN was ermmmmm......Born......Dee is my first name shortened and McK is my surname and my bank account number is 33323........whoa!"!!!!!!

I know but it's not what they are remembered for. I don't have the same love for Floyd I used to the whole Pac thing has tainted his legacy imo.
Good to see someone who's name was Pretty Boy have the same views of Mayweather as me, if Mayweather knocked Pacquiao out tomorrow he still would never gain the respect he could have from me.

Heathen.
Have you even seen it?
You have clearly been suckered in by the urban myth that V is no good.

Wasn't overly bothered with Rocky 4 is obviously better than five but is more jingoistic and flag waving than Truss on the fourth of July. One is the best film.

I like that actually. I thought the re-make was excellent as well. The lady who played the chief reptile was incredibly attractive to boot. Did get a bit USA saves the world in places but a very good series.

Re: Origin of your name?
I just didn't like the premise. Rags to riches to rags is kind of depressing. Given how heroic Rocky was in the eyes of the people - it seems weird that he'd struggle so much. He'd have had offers from all over the place, sportsmans dinners, opening ceremonies, commentary positions, trainers for massive prospects etc. It seemed a bit unrealistic.
The fight in it was ok. Would have much preferred to see Tommy Morrison in the ring against Balboa - it was around the time Stallone was still ripped enough to make it look realistic.
Shame they didn't.

Re: Origin of your name?
Ive never worked out how the scoring works in any of the Rocky films. The last film he fights a ten rounder and is floored as many as 5 times over the fight but the judges turn in a SD scorecard of 95-94? Presumeably they must have missed the mutiple knockdowns or flat out ignored them aswell as scoring some rounds for Rocky that he was being bounced around the canvas on.

Re: Origin of your name?
Rocky V is a phenomenal piece of work - mainly for reasons that were completely unintentional, mind you. It's so utterly bad, it actually becomes fantastic. Comedy gold!
That said, it must have been one hell of a flight back from Russia, given that Rocky's lad aged about eleven years during it.
Rocky I
Rocky III
Rocky II
Rocky V (at the top if we go on a slightly different rating technique!)
Rocky IV
Rocky Balboa VI
To anyone being too critical of V, another Duke line to you all; "You a DAY-UM FFFFOOOOL!!!"

Great flick, though I do find the myth of the 'realistic' fight scenes a bit odd.

My name is my school nickname + the year in which i signed up to the forum.
Nothing too exciting going on there.
I heard that in the latest Rocky Film, Tarver "accidently" sparked out Sly in a fight scene. Is this true?

Aw it's a shame you didn't see my parody of your Kell Brook thread JabMachine! It was good natured, mind.
This thread is posing a question I don't really have an answer for. I tried it on the beeb but "bloody" was deemed massively offensive so I had to change it to bloomin. Calling Rowley a dog and trying to force him into a cage was fair game though.

Wish I'd seen it mate. I do coincidentally box believe it or not. Just never done anything with it. Just sparring and thats it. Nothing heavy. Meant I knew enough to sound credible at least as the reasons I haven't gone anywhere are still the same as I mentioned, the way I box etc.

It certainly taxed the grey matter.
I normally use a name which would have taken quite a lot of explaining but I use it to annoy creationists and conspiracy theorists and they have an irritating habit of following you all over t'internet.

I can't fault your knack for sounding credible, had me hook line and sinker! Mine could only have fooled/been written by the severely deranged.
Anyway, enough about hoodwinks - the real story behind my name is that I am John Wayne himself.
