Good work Bathite
I'm up for keeping this going, ok it's slow but it will be at the start and there will be times when people are struggling for time so we just need to rely on others to put teams in if we ask

Looking at upping bonus's to 3m for average of 2 lines, need to be full 2 lines though lads (or 3 in one etc).....I can't justify giving full bonus for a line.
Also look to put just scores on door to 1.5m so at least you'll see your budget rising.
Cheers for staying around Nick, bit disappointed Driver has jacked it in (or has he???)
Shall I contact Hersh???

Doing predo's now Pooly.
Understand it's difficult to make changes because a lot of the suggestions Bathite made detract from the realism of the game, which is the foundation of this game.
Would anyone be keen on a super rugby league? Probs look at doing 10 teams, kick off in 3 weeks time to coincide with the start of the s15.

Foreign players abroad is a nice idea, those who aren't in full international squads. Basically half the Ulster team!

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 1 - Homepage
I think the problem is people are comparing this game to the other AP fantasy game, but they're completely different, because the other one is far more developed.
On the other game in the first season i think it was a real sharp turn around i.e. 2 fixtures a week, very little tactics (i don't think their were any actually), and jsut scores needed for predos. It meant people became interested in it without having to give to much time to it, but people were on regularly to deal with offers and such like. And eventually everyone's commitment and interest became bigger and bigger. - Not suggesting we do this, but just pointing out how the other game got through the early stages.
People are also more reluctant to do deals in case they do a deal that turns out to be shoite in 6 months, having learnt mistakes from the other game.
I like the idea of a draft though. Would definetly create more interest. But agree with Pooly, we need to ensure it doesn't become an All Star League.
I defo want it to keep going, but we need to be prepared to for the first season to be a bit slow, until it builds some momentum

I mentioned this the other day, so knocked up something to see if there's any interest.
I've gone for football so as to not draw attention from the two AP games.

To get some debate going on here as its criminally quiet after the first round of 6 nations games who would you guys have as the next Lions 15?
For me it has to be:
1. Healy
2. Best
3. Jones
4. Gray
5. POC
6. Ferris
7. Warburton
8. Heaslip
9. Murray (although if Phillips keeps his form up hes in for a good shout)
10. Sexton
11. Trimble
12. Roberts
13. Davies
14. North
15. Foden

You would have Youngs in on current form? Cracking player lots of potential but his confidence is blown to bits at the moment. If the squad was named today doubt he would make it. Shame Care fecked around because he could of made a real claim for the 9 shirt this 6 nations

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 1 - Homepage
I don't think he's playing badly tbh just not making loads of breaks every game, would rather take him than Phillips who I think is awful.
When I've seen Care he hasn't been that great this season either. Murray looks a real talent but a year too early.
Cusiter would be a good shout, prefer him to Phillips anytime.

Think Youngs is getting a hard time over his service. Not seen an awful lot wrong with it but his kicking game seems to have gone to pot and hes offering nothing round the fringes. Definate confidence issues. If he sorts them out he will be fine but hasnt looked like doing so yet.
Care probably the form scrum half of the Aviva. Played some great rugby for Quins this season. Not sure on Cussiter not playing fantastically.
Massive fan of young Murray he seems to have the lot and is a very quick learner. Constantly improving. Phillips has been massive around the park. Not the biggest fan of his service but it aint been too bad lately. On current form id have the both of them way ahead of Youngs for the Lions although if Youngs got back to his best he would be a shoe in. On form hes one of the best in the world

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 1 - Homepage
His box kicking needs some work without doubt but I haven't seen much wrong with his game. Only poor game I've seen him have is against Ulster were the pack got hammered.
Anyone who says he's been dreadful knows little about rugby.
Care has been steady but not as good as last season for me. Not sure he's playing any better than Youngs but would have least have gave him a challenger.
Dickson may come in but he's not an International scrum half, he's got nothing in terms of pace or attacking threat,

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 1 - Homepage
Squad wise, be looking something like...I'm rushing and trying to throw in the odd bolter, don't crucify me!
Corbs Healy Jenkins
Cole Jones (PDJ?)
Hartley Best Ford
Gray POC (c) Lawes Davies Toner
Ferris SOB Haskell/Wood
Warburton
Heaslip Faletau
Murray Phillips Cusiter
Sexton Priestland Flood
North Ashton
Roberts McFadden (Hook?)
Davies Tuilagi
Fitzgerald/Bowe Halfpenny
Foden Kearney
What struck me is the lack of pure 7s and 12s apart from Roberts and Warbs. Wanted to get Lydiate and O'Mahoney in there as well, going to Oz without an opposite match up to Pocock seems silly, but Haskell, SOB and Wood would do a job there.
I still rate Hook as a 12, but think McFadden might make it his own and has great versatility. Bowe needs a big 12 months, but his pedigree might get him in ahead of Fitzy. Leaving a lot of quality behind at scrum half.
Think there could be a bolter for the 4/5th lock. POC, Gray, Lawes is a safe bet i'd say, but Kellock, Garvey, Attwood, AWJ, Charteris could all have a good run.

Whats happening on this draft then? I don't mind helping out, but got a long weekend booked in, so won't be on much from Thursday night until Sunday and don't want to hold anything up.

League table updated:

Sale fly from bottom of the table to 8th, with Exeter the unfortunate side finding themselves at the bottom.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 1 - Homepage
On your Lions discussion.
Cussiter takes about 3 steps to pass the ball. Youngs wouldn't be anywhere near starting.
On Current form my test XV would be
1.Healy (Jenkins)
2.Best (Ford)
3.Jones (Ross/Murray)
4.POC (AWJ/Charteris)
5.Gray (Lawes)
6.Ferris (Lydiate)
7.Warburton (SOB)
8.Faletau (Heaslip)
9.Murray (Phillips)
10.Sexton (Priestland)
11.North (Earls)
12.Roberts
13.Manu (Davies)
14.Trimble (Ashton)
15.Foden (Halfpenny)
Trying to name a lions XV and 2nd XV it shows me that their is very little depth at 12 behind Roberts. Likewise 2nd row is a bit light. Backrow is an area of strength and frontrow is pretty decent.
The battle for the 2 tighthead spots after A.Jones will be interesting. Ross, Murray and Cole are all decent players. Cole for me always has a question mark beside him (maybe because he doesn't start the biggest games at club level).

Also....
- Bringing the national league bidding age limit to 21
- They'll be a draft of players commencing tomorrow
- A foreign signing of a player under the 21 will be allowed next week for a minimum of 3m (not against allocation) so get your thinking caps on (21 or under on 1/9/2011)

Next week you can sign a young player (U21) for 3m....unless a bidding war
