First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of Tommy Bowe, Ryan Jones, Dan Newton and birthday boy Prop above the bar.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Morning Hughie and All.
Great day in Úc (pronounced a short "Oop" in English) meaning Big or Beautiful Land ... somewhere to the south?
Back from being out in the jungle a few suburbs north... sawing privet, cutting back... chucking out stuff for the bins.
I try to load them to the max on Sundays. Only one small red back encountered; although there's definitely more lurking - for sure.
Also moved lots of furniture, books, old records & magazines, paintings, heavy old Singer sewing machine, clothes & shoes - out of a bedroom and the hall and into other rooms away from where they're gonna rip up the carpet tomorrow. It's all going to be nice old timber floors again - the original kauri, about 90 years old and which has been covered up for at least 50 years.
I've made some silly picks in the Pro12.
Can't believe I tipped against the Blues on Friday. Shame on me. Great Uncle Victor would not be impressed!
Waaay too generous with the Ospreys. Thought they would score more but did conditions suit?
Lucky with Leinster - thought they'd be primed strongly for this one at home, Ahm I roysh??
Should have gone for more points with Munster. Was wondering when the dark horses would stretch their legs...
Over-optimistic with Connacht... was hoping for more. They're my secret favourite team... and Ulster...
Always shudder when I tip the Dragons... I'm glad they snatched it but I hear it wasn't pretty?
All that - and I only managed to scrape up one rung on the SG Ladder.

Ah its all handbags, yea Chisora went a bit to far by saying he would shoot Haye, but Haye will say "I don't want to press charges" it creates massive interest in a fight and the price of the fight rockets. It's all business

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
It's about time someone did something to brew up a bit of interest in the heavyweight division anyway. It's been a two fighter division for years now and everyone has lost interest in it. Just look at last night, a British boxer fighting for the heavyweight championship and its on a channel that no one has even heard of. Sums it up for me
David Haye is a bum anyway

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Hi PJ - SL has said he will make changes. Tuilagi will almost certainly be one of them. Question is who will make way. Most people will say Barritt as he has 'constipated' England's attacking threat. However SL will be mindful that Roberts will need stopping, so my guess is that Farrell will go to the bench.
Lawes and Morgan have to come in imo opinion, and possibly Sharples for Strettle. And Ashton needs to get his head out of his arse and have more influence.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Yeah, I think you're right Glas, he's ruthless enough to do what's best for the team - he is after the job full time after all.
Hound, I think Farrell will make way too, he is young enough to take the knock and provides good bench cover for 10/12, I think Hodgson would survive on Flood's performance so far today but that would leave England light on a goal kicker, Morgan is a definite along with Dickson, Lawes is a possible and Sharples did himself no harm yesterday showing plenty of gas in the Rec quagmire, but would possibly be one change too many if Hodgson misses out.
The 22 SL selects could make or break him for the job, I'm fully expecting a Wales win, but to run them close with such a "new" lineup would be impressive.

Wow! Murphy makes a captain's call and nudges Flood out of the way to drop the 3 points that breaks Sarries hearts.
4 minutes into the red and Tigers win an classic, ugly, but classic.

For sure Rava, completely bottled it. He hadn't had a good game prior to that anyway, but that was poor for any player who has his sights set on Test rugby, he's still coming back from injury though so possibly short on confidence.

True enough, it's what makes them tick isn't it. Gamma double minus for Flood, I bet Charlie H has let out a huge sigh of relief today, at least he'll still be in the 22 now.

Why not play Farrell-Barritt-Tuilagi?
I know it will be tough for Farrell to get his first start at test level against an in-form Welsh side, but he seems really mentally strong and has good basics so it could be a gamble that pays off.

Long term that's probably how England will end up but for this week's match it would be harsh to drop your only try scorer.

Awright biltong. Any of you SH guys feel inclined to do a write up on the S15 teams ahead of next weekend?
I'll be watching Bulls v Sharks (on at a civilised hour ) after work on Friday. That's followed by England v Wales U20s.

Hell, I have been sitting in this pub for an hour and now you guys respond.
Hound, I know Kiwirredevil is working on a piece, we are assising him with squads etc.
Problem is the fracnhises were still playing warm up matches this weekend, so we will only hear about the squads this week.
Thus far I think the sharks will be the best SA franchise.
Stormers have lost their entire midfield, Fourie, De Villiers and a new young star Johann Sadie has all gone.
They still have Juan du Jongh, but no depth.
Cheetahs and Lions don't look to good and with the Bulls you never know, they are rebuilding with many of the Boks retired or gone, but they did buy a lot of players.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Glas South Africans in general are quite religious. You will also find that with our cricket team.
Amla as an example is a devout religious person.
In Jonty's time reliegion and prayer was at the fore front for many players.
Whether it can be an article I don't know, they are quite private about these issues.
And to do research on it will be quite challenging.
