Pakistan vs England - 3rd ODI
Thread to discuss the third game of this series, with England leading 2-0. Today Pakistan have won the toss for the first time, and predictably chosen to bat. They make two changes with Younus Khan (unwell) replaced by Asad Shafiq and Adnan Akmal coming in for Rehman as they decide a proper wicket keeper isn't such a bad idea after all. England are once again unchanged.
Teams
Pakistan: Mohammed Hafeez, Imran Fahrat, Azhar Ali, Asad Shafiq, Misbah-Ul-Haq, Umar Akmal, Shahid Afridi, Adnan Akmal, Umar Gul, Saeed Ajmal, Aizaz Cheema
England: Cook, Pietersen, Trott, Bopara, Morgan, Kieswetter, Patel, Broad, Swann, Anderson, Finn
Once more, England's side looks better balanced to me, Pakistan's middle-over is talented but looks a little stodgy.

England will lose this, different ball game chasing and there are too many batsmen out of form. That said I will now turn to blind optimism

Re: Pakistan vs England - 3rd ODI
so, can lightning strike three times? Cook to score a hundred, Bopara fifty, and Finn to take 4-34 again?
Quite like to see Broad bowl a bit better today (more like the test series)

Law of averages probably says we'll lose this one but having won the first two games our confidence is high so I think we can go 3-0 up today.

bit more bounce and carry in this pitch, Finn should enjoy this

Anderson bowling lousily so far, much too straight to Fahrat.

Finny strikes! probing outside off-stump, Fahrat has a little flirt with it, nicks it through and Kieswetter takes a good catch diving away to his left.

I dont know why anyone would pay pak players to lose matches - bar stewards tend to give their bloody wickets away for free!

Re: Pakistan vs England - 3rd ODI
Broad gets Hafeez but it's a no-ball, looks very tight that but I think the umpire got it right, and then Hafeez slaps the free-hit for four. England bowling absolute rubbish so far!

Re: Pakistan vs England - 3rd ODI
Hafeez gone! similar to the first game, plays around one from Finn which dips in a bit. Once again Hafeez flatters to deceive, and suddenly England are on top!

Re: Pakistan vs England - 3rd ODI
Pakistan could get bowled out for another low score here, couple more quick wickets and it's a right mess for them, two new batsmen at the crease let's build some pressure.

Re: Pakistan vs England - 3rd ODI
Still a good run rate from Pakistan but they may not have enough wickets at the end to push for a score beyond 250.

Re: Pakistan vs England - 3rd ODI
Broad gets another, poor shot from Misbah, a half-hearted drive at a wide-ish ball, and nicks to Swann at slip. Good captaincy from Cook to keep the slip in, and Pakistan have lost three wickets for one run.

I wish I could run and hide behind the sofa but I seem to be a masochist. I remember pakistan always managing to pull a rabbit out of the hat and expect it to be the same. Should expect nothing and be happier!

I'm going to watch the next odi with a noose around my neck standing on a chair. Rather that than a 1 series

Re: Pakistan vs England - 3rd ODI
Just goes to show - that one's team cannot always win and somewhere out there is another person just like you who also hurts when his team loses. That said. I hope your team gets mullered and tonight you have to cry yourself to sleep with an onion for company to stave off questions about your masculinity. I suspect though - I will be allowed that dubious honour.

an onion?
i was planning just to stick with the wife as normal really. An onion seems like an unusual substitute.

About the same thing I'd have thought just easier to peel and irritating on the eyes rather than the ears

The word out is that Pakistan are getting out on purpose just to spite Cook - so that he doesn't have an opportunity to get three centuries in a row.

He can have my onion - i'll need a sack at this rate
Re: Pakistan vs England - 3rd ODI
My fault. i turned off the radio to go for a stroll. wickets always fall when i'm not listening for the opposition and when i am for eng.
In my world england always collapse and the opposition never get out,; quite depressing.

Another fairly regulation drop from Kieswetter off Broad. These two aren't going to be chums for long if Kies isn't careful!
I've got a bag full of onions downstairs if anyone wants them...just send me the address!

Listening to Agnew is hard work. When a former class player like Boycs is having a go i can totally understand it but it always seems to me that Agnew is more angry for what he wasn't than what the team now are.
