Pakistan vs England - 3rd ODI
First topic message reminder :
Thread to discuss the third game of this series, with England leading 2-0. Today Pakistan have won the toss for the first time, and predictably chosen to bat. They make two changes with Younus Khan (unwell) replaced by Asad Shafiq and Adnan Akmal coming in for Rehman as they decide a proper wicket keeper isn't such a bad idea after all. England are once again unchanged.
Teams
Pakistan: Mohammed Hafeez, Imran Fahrat, Azhar Ali, Asad Shafiq, Misbah-Ul-Haq, Umar Akmal, Shahid Afridi, Adnan Akmal, Umar Gul, Saeed Ajmal, Aizaz Cheema
England: Cook, Pietersen, Trott, Bopara, Morgan, Kieswetter, Patel, Broad, Swann, Anderson, Finn
Once more, England's side looks better balanced to me, Pakistan's middle-over is talented but looks a little stodgy.

Pretty ordinary bit of fielding from Azhar at deep square leg there. Reprieve for KP on 45.

Re: Pakistan vs England - 3rd ODI
Azhar Ali drops one in the deep. Yes KP hit it hard but it was straight at him and he really should have caught it, seemed to misjudge the pace of it...

Ah nice, Cheema bowling medium pace short to Cook and he's dispatched through mid wicket for four more. Easy peasy right now. Lets keep it that way!

Re: Pakistan vs England - 3rd ODI
In the capital alone there are about 20 bowlers from villages who can comfortably bowl around 95 mph with a decent amount of accuracy and instead of putting them into the academy or getting them overseas assignments - they put in these two Riaz and Cheema because they are the best from the cities and now the pak pace attack is toothless for the first time in living memory.
Re: Pakistan vs England - 3rd ODI
tremendous stroke from KP, finally gets to the pitch of one and drives it straight back over Hafeez's head and into the stands!

Re: Pakistan vs England - 3rd ODI
More friendly bowling, this time from Hafeez. Short ball that cook drags through mid wicket for four before rotating the strike comfortably. Then, off the final ball, KP dances down the track and lofts the ball over long off into the VIP area, where he is dropped by a slightly portly man in a suit. Poor effort from the fielder.

I was just thinking that. I suspect eng have warmed up now and some revenge will be in order in sl.
Maybe they will trust Finn now too.

Re: Pakistan vs England - 3rd ODI
that's really good to see.
They had to do something after that test series.
I've had a lot of ribbing from my Pakistani friends over the "not properly prepared" excuse Eng gave but, you know what? this might just get thrown back come Monday.

Re: Pakistan vs England - 3rd ODI
I reckon if pakistan can get a wicket here england will collapse to 221 all out.
(Please god - dont call my bluff)

Re: Pakistan vs England - 3rd ODI
when it gets down to less than a 50 lead it gets probably less worrying for the batting side but it's still a real challenge.
TMS just said that eng started well chasing in that last test and collapsed, they perhaps fancy Pakistan here.

nah was a thick and fast edge off the back foot, would have been an absolutely fantastic catch had he held that.

Moggs starting to find some form now too, couple of crunching boundaries off Afridi to level the scores.
