Pakistan vs England - 3rd ODI
First topic message reminder :
Thread to discuss the third game of this series, with England leading 2-0. Today Pakistan have won the toss for the first time, and predictably chosen to bat. They make two changes with Younus Khan (unwell) replaced by Asad Shafiq and Adnan Akmal coming in for Rehman as they decide a proper wicket keeper isn't such a bad idea after all. England are once again unchanged.
Teams
Pakistan: Mohammed Hafeez, Imran Fahrat, Azhar Ali, Asad Shafiq, Misbah-Ul-Haq, Umar Akmal, Shahid Afridi, Adnan Akmal, Umar Gul, Saeed Ajmal, Aizaz Cheema
England: Cook, Pietersen, Trott, Bopara, Morgan, Kieswetter, Patel, Broad, Swann, Anderson, Finn
Once more, England's side looks better balanced to me, Pakistan's middle-over is talented but looks a little stodgy.

Oh he just moans all the time.
To be fair on that one he was right as it wa as silly drop but he talks from a position of authority I'm not sure he warrants.

Fair to say Pakistan are well on to here. Runs on the board and boom boom booming as is his want.
Wickets in hand and overs to spare.. Can't see them failing here.

Re: Pakistan vs England - 3rd ODI
Keep the onions on hold there, you've won this one.
Eng chasing more than a ton looks unlikely after that test series.
Pakistan cannot lose.

I geuninely hate watching afridi bat in these circumstances - always a hint of his madness lurking beneath a settled exterior.
Re: Pakistan vs England - 3rd ODI
Good catch Patel !

And now Jimmy gets Afridi (again)
Big wicket - he hasn't had a great day's bowling but that was very handy.
Could keep them to 200 odd...

Weird innings from boomer. Build carefully then goes for it and gets out. Often gets the same score in half the balls.

This has been some comback by Pakistan, when i left they were 50/4 and looking like they might not make 200. Good stuff from them.

Re: Pakistan vs England - 3rd ODI
I think gul should have some training sessions as a batsman - he really has got a good eye. Just a little practice knocking the ball around.
Re: Pakistan vs England - 3rd ODI
I hope that it was'nt a match winning partnership

Gul playing a useful knock for Pakistan here ...
Got them over 200 and on course for what ...220? Could be challenging
3 for Finn - might be under 220 now ...

200 plus looks too much under lights, well played to Pakistan after that start.

I wouldn't give up yet Shah
England aren't great at chasing in ODIs in Asian conditions.
Reckon if Cook goes early you'd be favourites with 220 ...

Thats easy for you to say - you aren't facing the prospect of driving around in a ladies handbag for a month.
Re: Pakistan vs England - 3rd ODI
I have a horrible feeling that Cook will be out in the first 10 overs, great fight back from Pakistan showed real grit.

Fair point...
Reckon it is about 50/50 really - would not like to predict this one.
Too tired to sit up and watch it though so I'll bid you all good night and enjoy the run chase...

Re: Pakistan vs England - 3rd ODI
Well its going to be an interesting chase now. England never that great under lights and as alfie says, get Cook out early and Pakistan will go favourites.
There is a chance you will avoid the handbag shah

Re: Pakistan vs England - 3rd ODI
Stop trying to cheer me up - I'm trying for cynicism so I get pleasantly surprised each time
Re: Pakistan vs England - 3rd ODI
Cook and pietersen look like they could score this between them. Raring to go.
Re: Pakistan vs England - 3rd ODI
That was really unusual from Gul.
Is he hurt? He did take a slight injury earlier.

Give afridi the ball damnit - now or they'll run away with the game
Re: Pakistan vs England - 3rd ODI
