But there's more. Some years ago, they all turned down the opportunity to play in an invitational for charity.

Re: Trivia
I know who sang it, but did he actually write it?
Assume you're going for two different answers so I'll leave the full package to someone else which may be a little ticky tacky.
The singer sang at one of the Inaugural hoo hahs prior to Obama's presidential inauguration . . . . . . .

Just checked and to my surprise Kwinni is correct.
So singer only please as writer is a bit obscure.
Ps Spot the missing 'sure ' in last post.
It's this blasted heat, it's getting to me, eight days in the mid to high 20's.

Jings Incont, you were quick to answer your own question....good one though.
Slammin Sam could still kick his own hight well into his 70's.
How many of us could do that in our 20's???

Yes, Sam Snead was an athletic anomaly, he could have excelled in any sport he attempted.

Re: Trivia
I can think of a few brothers, but most of them had at least one sibling in the winners' circle - Bryant, Sutherland. The only name I can think of, also had a sister who played on the LPGA Tour I believe....

Re: Trivia
I have an Olympic Trivia question for you:
I've seen some Olympic Events and some Medal Ceremonies, and was surprised once to see a Continental European athlete on the Winners' Podium and hear the British Anthem being played, intentionally.
Where was I and what were the circumstances?

Re: Trivia
Strange. good question Kiwni..
Do they play the constructers national anthem in F1 and motorsport?
But they are not olympic events..
But I have heard that a nation can choose any anthem to be played rather than there own!
You have stumped me dude, because i cant think

Doesn't Liechtenstein or some such tiny state share the tune?

Re: Trivia
Smithers,
You're very close!
Hanni Wenzel won two Olympic golds at Lake Placid, slalom and giant slalom, and Liechtenstein, as you suggest, doesn't have an anthem!
So they played ours.
As they did later for Robin Cousins.

Re: Trivia
Liechtenstein's anthem is the same tune we call the National Anthem. It's used quite a lot - there's an American song which uses that tune too - not the National Anthem though.
