4000000 tonnes every second by the way.
So if we plug that into E=MC^2, it turns out the sun uses 360000000000000000000000000 jouls a second. Or in other words about 4285714286 mid sized nulcear weapon explosions a second.

How are you meant to drink whisky or what is the proper technique for tasting it?

Re: Trivia
Single malts are generally distinctive in thier regions especially the Islay ones which tend to be smokey/peaty.
If it is a good single malt you just sniff then sip it to start with and roll it round your tongue to get the different flavours or finish. You then get an aftertaste which can be very different to the original taste.
You can also put a drop on your hands and rub them briskly together, you then smell the vapour of the whisky on your hands.
You can add water to the whisky. Nothing else just bottled spring water. Glass does not matter although the industry try to sell you a 'whisky' glass which is like a small narrow brandy balloon. This is inclined to make you sip rather than gulp!
I like to add just less than half the measure with water which then brings out additional flavours.
You can buy some cheaper blends which are quite good. Black Bottle is probably the best value for money and is slightly peated. Crawfords and Jonnie Walker are also pretty good.
Popular brands such as Grouse vary quite a lot. you can get good and bad batches.
The really cheap whiskys should be avoided as they are generally just over 3 years mature.
The really old expensive ones are best left to make money and not drunk.
After 35 to 40 years the start to deterioate.
A 12 year old whisky will always be a 12 year old whisky even if it was bottled 50 years ago. It is the time maturing in the cask that ages the whisky.
Whisky can be matured in mant different casks. Sherry and bourbon are the most popular.

Misti
The Japanese whiskys are very good.
I would definately avoid the Welsh one and no one has had the courage to offer me the English one yet. Both are very expensive for what they are as they are chasing the novelty market.
I like Talisker one of my favourites. Currently sipping a Aberlour Abundh which is cask bottled 57%. Strong sherry flavours but rather nice. A Jura 10 year old and a 12 year old Talisker.
The Asda's own Malts are good value and it is quite good fun trying to work out who made them. A 10 year old single malt from Islay means it is one of six distilleriers who generally sell thier 10 year olds around the £30 mark.
The Asda one sells about £18. Make sure you get the 'single malt' ones and not the 'blended malts'.

Mines is Old Parr, but expensive and hard to get in England, so now just settle for Bells 12year old. Two tots at night and you can sleep like a baby (that's my excuse to stop the wife moaning about my drinking)

A top hat full of goose down.
Used to be a right bogger forcing the feathers in and then stitching them.
I used to sell mine at a guinea a time [£1.05p]

Re: Trivia
Ah, I'm stumped, which leads me to think my friend from Coventry on the "cricket" board would suggest Jimmy Hill's experiment at Highfield Road but of course that's now been replaced.
Back to the drawing board.
Duelling messages here! I knew that Aberdeen had gone to all seats early but didn't know it was that early!

Is that right? Im from Aberdeen and thats my team and always thought it was Aberdeen with the first all seated stadium?
Edit: it appears so. Clydesbank first uncovered all seater and Aberdeen first covered all seater. You learn something new everyday

To be fair to the Dons. Clydebank just put plank seats on the open terraces.
I would imagine most folk stood on them!!

I posted a similar trivia a year or so ago, players with most money who've played neither Ryder or Pres Cups.
Interesting answers to both . . . . . Then we got into "International" player with most career loot who's never Pres Cup'ped.
