At the moment it would have to be a CB of equal quality, but in truth it would take a hell of a lot to make me sell my best defender.

Alex isn't enough of a replacement and while I reckon De Gea will be quality I also think his stock isn't high enough yet to make me want to sell my best CB

The deal wouldn't go through until after Week 1 tactics as I wouldn't be able to get a TP replacement until Sunday, and my injury is also a DM.

I think the operative word in that statement is 'adequate'. They are, but Howedes is significantly above adequate and it would weaken my side far more to lose him than to gain what I would from this afternoon deals.

I know Carvalho is classy and he will start for me. But alongside Howedes, and that is a very solid base for me that I see no real way of improving upon.
