Parling
Apparently Alastair Eykyn tweeted:

Make of that what you will, but it sounds like Dickson & Morgan will be only changes to Eng starting XV with Lawes Flood & Tuilagi on bench
This means Parling will be dropped from the squad. Firstly, if he is being dropped, why was he not released last week to Tigers? Secondly, I personally think this would be harsh, especially as Palmer has been pretty non existent in the matches and Parling was impressive, especially when he came on against Scotland. Do other people agree or are those my Leicester glasses on?

Re: Parling
Given the issues with the Welsh lineout I'd start Parling. He made a difference when he came on against Scotland and took over calling the lineout and he is used to playing with Croft. Between the two they may help disrupt the Welsh lineout as well as Scotland did which could be key to stopping the impressive Welsh backline getting going.

Re: Parling
Agree about Palmer, hes been poor but often puts in a big performance at HQ. I'd have went Palmer/Lawes with Parling on the bench.
Parling would be more of a threat at the lineout but I'd prefer the added work Lawes would bring as I suspect we'll dominate the lineout anyway.

Re: Parling
From my Welsh view point, I would be happy with Lawes, Tuilagi and Flood on the bench.

Re: Parling
So Parling is a definite starter then- which means he must really have impressed during training. I think he's looked great when he's come on in the previous two games, very dynamic and a good carrier considering his relatively light stature. Assuming he's partnering Botha (who's been impressive in the contact and defensive area), with Lawes on the bench.

Re: Parling
What did you think of Garvey at our place GF? I was a little unimpressed tbh, offers a steady lineout option and offered himself up for carries, just didn't seem to get anywhere.

Re: Parling
Ah ...he offered himself about and yes he was steady in the lineout.
I do think he is one to push as he could be good.
But we were pretty good... Shame to see Swinson going.

Re: Parling
Yea I'm a little disappointed with that but we probably have 3 better locks on our books currently. Although you wouldn't be able to tell the state of our lineout at the weekend.
Chuffed for Parling, he's a real classy operator and will give us clean ball as well as offering a threat to the opposition(something we've lacked). Palmer has been poor in the T14 so no real surprise he's carried this onto the Int stage.
If we can be within a few points come half time I fancy the impact of Youngs, Lawes, Flood, Manu to see is through for the win!
