Who Will Have The Minerals
As usual there is a lot of good posts on here with knowledgeable discussion going on, then there is the friendly banter that IMO seperates rugby from football, then there are the idiot from all Nations who just try and get peoples backs up.
SO I ask who out of the idiots from both sides that have predicted Wales will get stuffed or likewise we are going to stuff England will have the minerals to come on this board after the game and admit they are wrong.
I won't be on here until Monday as I am lucky enough to have tickets and either way will be very drunk Saturday night and recovering Sunday but it will be interesting to see who has the bottle, not many I am guessing.

Well here in SA we have lots of minerals, we have gold, platinum, bauxite and many more.
I on the other hand only have my statistics.

As long as they are 'vital statistics' Bek

Sorry mate, I don't think all of them are vital, just necessary.

Then in that case I am very fortunate indeed.

There's plenty of friendly banter amonst soccer fans. It's just it's a hell of lot more popular and therefore has a larger number of tools. Even the relatively small number of idiots on here can take over a bit so it's even worce for the soccer boards.
As for minerals, I thought we had stolen all of Wales' minerals?

Wales never had much in the way of minerals - but they do have lots and lots of coal (and yes for once it really is 'world class'). What this meant is that we got to dig minerals out of the ground in other bits of the UK (i.e. Cornwall) then ship it to Wales where all the nasty dirty processing took place. Hence Cornwall is pretty with lots of holes in the ground whereas lots of the bits close to Swansea are slag heaps with a bit of turf on top

Re: Who Will Have The Minerals
It's clear from your post that only one set of "idiots" will be obliged to own up to being so.
The other set will be here on Monday crowing like cocks in a heavily populated hen coop.
So, I'd suggest the penance exercise you are looking for will only be fuel poured down the greedy gullet of the "idots" whose side won.
I therefore judge your thread to be an incitement to "idiocy"!

If it starts to go badly I'll spend the game looking for stuff to blame it on for when I'm next on 606. Most likely the Twickers fox.

Gas was an unfortunate reference, Tycroes, as the boys will be out with their observations that yes indeed, gas seems to the major Welsh resource amonst all that gold and iron ore. Edit it quick and I'll delete this to help you out

Off the top of my head the oldest copper mine in the UK is in Angelsey -There was another copper mine elsewhere - but I'd bet 10x as much copper was mined from Cornwall as from Wales. I never said Wales didnt have minerals its just that other bits of the UK have more and what Wales is known for is minerals processing.

Mate Swansea was built on copper not coal it wasnt called copperopilis for nothing, we had copper mines in Landore, Llangyfelach, up near morriston and even down in Clyne woods near sketty.

based on a quick search, Swansea produced 60% of the worlds copper in the 18th and 19th century.

Without being sexist - who but the English would elect a menopausal woman to run the country?

That is actually in Namibia, was under our control until the late 80's when they got independance.
Namibia is a beautiful country, only about 1.2 million people in a landmass of roughly 750 000 sq km.
Great for 4x4 tours

The copper was processed there but most of the ore came from Cornwall. Cornwall had minerals but no coal and not enough wood. Swansea had the coal so could turn the ore in metal - and wasnt exactly far away. When the Cornish mines got too deep and closed down the Cornish miners went overseas and copper ore was shipped in from further afield. A byproduct of this is that in odd corners of the world where there are certain kinds of mines you find pasties.
