Anytime try scorers
HI Everyone
New to forum, I always spend many hours reading all the posts though - Usually during my lunch break at work eating my sarnies.
Who do you think will score tries this weekend during England v Wales?
My allegiance is to the men in red shirts
To make it more interesting [if that's even possible] I'm going to have a bet on an anytime try scorer.
I fancy 1/2 p - His odds were something like 3/1
You can get George North best price at 2/1
Who do you feel will most likely score a try during the match??
Advice gratefully received.
ps.. I look at all the rugby forums - I think 606 is definitely the best and most sensible

It's about time Foden and Ashton got back on the score sheet, and you can never look past Tuilagi.

I think you might be on to something with 1/2p. He's on great form at the moment. With my England head on i'd say our best chance of a try would be Manu T. Welcome to the board.

Cheers Carpe
I'm obviously betting with my heart - so i'm picking one of the taffs
Wouldn't be surprised to see Ashton on the board - He's definitely overdue

Re: Anytime try scorers
He is but I dont see much in England toi suggest theyll be shipping the ball out to him, nor have I seen that the current coachies are encouraging him to come inside to find the ball.
Wales are less likely to start kicking the ball down Englands throats than they did in 2010 and 2011 sio the counter attack opportunities for him and Foden will be more limited. Im yet to see anything from Strettle to suggest he still has his broken field running game and the kind of ability to dance thgrough traffic Cueto showed during Englands good spell which made a lot of Ashtons opportunities.
England are also likely to play a prgamatic terttiorial game, relying on their set pieces, and looking for mistakes form Wales.
I dont see Astson as a good odds bet simply because hes "due a try".
Tuilagi youll probably get longer odds on and IMO better value. Id expect to see him get more of the ball and he has the ability to cut through the traffic and break defenders.
Halfpenny sounds decnet odds too given his scoring record. Id be surprissed if Wales dont score a try form their backs at some point in this game, although England are set up to shackle their midfield.

Ashton x 3
Foden
Tuilagi
Wales will probably rumble over for a controversial forward-based try late on the in the game.

it is decided, you are a WUM.
I think you're overlooking the try scoring beasts that are Morrsion & Lamont, the scotland centre pairing. I know it's not the right match but they are just that good.
In sensible terms, 1/2P is the best bet. North too. To be honest any of the welsh backline.
I do think England, with Farrell, will stay in touching distance without maybe scoring any tries. In the end it's Wales' to go out and win by outscoring a possibly metronomic England.

I didn't read the OP properly : Ha'Penny is brilliant odds I would go for that if I were a betting man (and I was...)

Re: Anytime try scorers
As a betting medium i always think anytime/first tryscorer odds are pretty terrible. big cash cow for the bookies. But nothing wrong with a small punt to add some interest i suppose. I'd look at Phillips scoring from a snipe at the base of the ruck or maybe Foden to score a late intercept when we've already lost - he has form doing this!

Islington - I know what you mean re: bookies bets and rubbish odds
I'm not really a gambler myself, but I thought for a bit of fun etc.
I think the centre is going to be a hard fought area during the match - I have a feeling that any tries are probably going to come in the corners [for both teams]
And as a said on a previous post 1/2 p is a little workhorse, who like last week can score on either wing, could be value @ 3/1 over the course of a 80 minute match??

Well, you know, I just don't expect the kind of rout we saw up at Murrayfield this year, especially with your try scoring machine being replaced at 10.

Phillips is a good bet I can see the welsh 7, 8 and 9 keeping it tight and get a try early on - Mike also likes Twickenham

Re: Anytime try scorers
I've decided
Taking everything into consideration - I think I'm going to pick 1/2p
Over 80 minutes I think his work rate is brill - He puts himself into positions where if the ball comes out wide enough he's thereabouts to be in the mix.
William Hill have him at 10/3 to score any time during the 80 mins
Worth a cheeky tenner!
I can't bet English players because that would mean me cheering them on and everything would get too confusing!
