The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of Ben Morgan, Stuart Hogg, Simon Zebo and birthday boy Penfro above the bar.

I would love to see a replay of the second Ospreys try at the end- it must have been the slightest of contacts after he lost control of the ball!

It was but I think he was still in contact just as the ball clipped the line before he lost control.
Great break from him though.

It was. You know, credit to the Ospreys they had to really battle away at it- we had them pinned down and they never gave up. I think the result was fair, fair for us to win the game and fair for them to get the LBP. They certainly were very dangerous on the counter.

Well, we're in a very tight spot. Humphreys at 10, Marshall at 9; either way we're relying on a player who is either brilliant or awful! Thought the outside backs showed up well, particularly Wallace and Spence, but on the whole there is a lot of work to be done- especially with regards to the breakdown... Frustrating match.

The breakdown mess was not entirely due to the muddy men on the pitch.

Certainly agree about Wallace and Spence. Both played well but there is something missing in our back play. When Ospreys ran the ball they looked so much more dangerous than us.

Rava,
Absolutely spot on.
At times we looked like we had no idea what to do with the ball. Lots of taking the ball at a standstill, no continuity and then order would return and we would look very good again for a few minutes.
Marshall's passing wasn't helping I have to say.
And, that's right Gibbo!!!!!
Ignore me why don't ya?????

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Yeah, pretty much! To be honest, with 20 minutes to go I thought we could get the bonus if we got the next score. Ended up with our hearts in our mouths. It would have been one we really shouldn't have let slip because we were all over possession and territory wise.
Well Rav, Nevin Spence running hard in a straight line, or a switch back inside is all so... predictable. They all played well as individuals bar Marshall at 9, but it was alot of perspiration without too much inspiration. I still think the problem is in generating quick enough ball. Comes down to 6-10, thats where I feel things aren't clicking.
My knee is grand. Cautioned to keep it rested for a few weeks but nothing to worry about. When we're in Limerick, I think I owe the Poissons a round of drinks

What did you think of the Bearman try? Looked dodgy to me, too much time to get the ball down. The Walker try looked a clear knock on in real time, haven't seen a slow mo.

I missed the first half because the Beeb website didn't seem to get going till half time so I haven't seen it.
Mind you, if it was contraversial then that was all but the Wallace one were a bit doubtful.

I was really at the wrong end of the ground to see the Bearman try, I was in front of the 22 at the other end of the ground. All I could see from where I was standing was a pile of bodies to be honest; no chance of having a look at the grounding. The Walker try looked like a knock-on in real time, 100%, was stunned it was given but I can't comment on that because the replay must have thrown up something.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Ireland, of course. With his legions of enthusiastic supporters south of the border he'd make a truly wonderful Uachtarán na hÉireann- surely the election would be a foregone conclusion. I can see him really bringing people together, knowing the country is in safe hands and being led towards a bright future. The only hitch would be the constitutional changes necessary to make it a permanent position. When you have a very special figure like Paddy, 14 years just isn't long enough.

Sure, if he was to overthrow a legitimate government in some corner of the world and install himself as the de facto dictator- wouldn't he do a great job of it altogether? I'd say he would. Lovely soft hands.

Italy's odds for tomorrow 8-1 in some places. That's really too good to miss. Or am I just being a selfish, arrogant, angry, unpatriotic Bar Steward. Somebody bought me some Malibu earlier on tonight, that can't have helped.

I used to be able to sleep at will when I was a student. If I had a couple of hours between lectures, I could make myself fall asleep for an hour or so between them. Power napping. I always felt much better afterwards.
I'd love to be able to sleep at my desk these days, but it's frowned upon.

Lucky,
I can be mentally asleep at parties, meetings and weddings and still look interested. But I come alive at Irish funerals. Best gigs in Town. Really pishes Mo off that. Specially when when she is talking to me at the time. Feic em if they cant take a joke I say.
In far more interesting news. I wiped out a mass of MP3 albums I'd collected from all sources on the way. Had near 15,000 albums stored. Realised most of it was pap. Influenced by the opiates of the day. So. Started to selectively replace everything via my Rolling Stone Guide. I have near everythang ever tuned, worth listening to - in FLAC now. Lossless. Pure quality. MP3's are shoite. Dont do it.
I have now moved on to everything classical. Oh the joy of discovery. And Sam Torrents.
They are closing em down one by one. So Cookie is getting it all in before they close the virtual gates. Oh yesh.

FLAC? You'll have to enlighten me Gibbo, I'm a bit Stone Age when it comes to computer-related acronyms.
I tend not to download much music. I still prefer CDs. I like having an artefact as well as the music on / in it.
