The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of Ben Morgan, Stuart Hogg, Simon Zebo and birthday boy Penfro above the bar.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Maybe he's a like for like replacement for Carr then? I hope we persist with Carr and don't make any new signings from outside the province to be honest. Maybe Darren Hudson could come into the main squad from the academy but i'd hope we're not looking for any new backs. Just get Isa a big contract and let that be that.
Shades of the Berquist signing. Goneva is a class act, but the young Irish talent is there in the back three for Leinster. They have Fitzgerald, D. Kearney, R. Kearney, Carr, Conway, Nacewa and then younger players like Darren Hudson. Is it necessary?

Really, given the way the Dragons are probably the only region to work within their budgets, they should be the last ones to become a development region. It won't happen though.
Hi all, I am back alright. My back has given out now though. At least it happened on my time off and not when I was away. Congratulation Kia on your news.

I totally agree Notch. Even without Shaggy ( ) and Carr we should be able to lean on our indigenous resources. I hope it's just a rumour, read it on the Leinster fans site posted by a French lad.

Welcome back Rev . Hope your back isn't too bad mate.
Asbo and Hughie you need to check out the Newgrange thing. I looked online and the only way you can actually get there is on the Tour bus. Also there are serious road diversions in place currently in that area. I'm not sure if there will be time to do it. We need to talk about this.
As an alternative Gibbo said he would place a heap of old stones in his Ma's back garden

Anyhow,
Question:
Is Ashton still managing to disrupt the harmony of the England team?

MrsP, no comment on Healy getting knocked cold at the weekend, but having it classed as a blow to the jaw instead of concussion?

Munsty,
I don't want to read it.
Asbo,
I have already commented on that elsewhere.
How do we persuade our young players not to play after a bang to the head when they see international players clearly KOd and then playing on?
Having to watch our wee fella and his team mates stand through a minute's silence after the death of a 14 year old on a pitch a few miles away was something I never want to have to do again.

YOU lot said I'd arrange something. Don't worry I will - straw poll.
a) Just get drinking in a pub. All will be choc-a-bloc mind
b) try and get a table at Varsity. Beer will be gash though
c) get a table at a cheap cafe/restaurant. Licensed of course

Well I will likely be in the QV from 11:30am (I think that's when it opens) on the 17th. You can all join me and my friend there if you like

Option A's probably best. It'll be busy whichever pub we go to, but we'll get the proper match-day atmosphere.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I remember back in '08 in the QV. You literally couldn't move in there it was so full, I think it was packed out well before 1pm. Cracking atmosphere in there though, and they've got so many small screens as well as the one big one at the back of the pub, you should be guaranteed to see the match no matter where you're stood.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
that's why I'm getting there as soon as the pub opens Penfro!
Get myself a good spot infront of the big screen and near enough to the bar you don't have to battle your way through. Then there's just the small mission of defending your spot

Reason I gave theVarsity option is, the last I heard, Stag had his tour group booked in to Tigger Tigger. However, I don’t know if that was for before or after the game. Varsity is 30 metres away from Tigger Tigger

I may be up for a mini meet Penfro...may try to bring the old man and other one too!!
MrsP sometimes it's up to the coaches to pull the players off....i've played on after being knocked out and have also been taken straight off after being knocked out. I know which I preferred but also I know which my health preferred. If the coaches saw he'd been knocked out then the Doctor should have ruled the roost.

ha, well spotted Penfro.
And for those interested in drinking pints, the QV do those double sized pint glasses = less trips to the bar.
Ah, I do love that pub.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Ignoring Lucky.
Prop.
It is absolutely up to the Doc to insist that a plater who has been KOd plays no further part in the match. I really don't know whether they get caught up in the game or are under pressure from coaches but everyone could see quite clearly that Healy was unconscious. These people has a responsibility to the injured player and to all those kids/coaches watching.
I just can't understand how they get away with it or even why they would want to.

Rava - thou pedant! true though
Asbo - veru true! but you see, I've fallen ill of that tactic before with these sized drinks. Definitely less trips to the bar for me.
