Notch, the atmosphere seemed to be better tonight, yes?
Didn't get down so I watched from the 14" in the kitchen.
My view of things:
1. Marshall/Pinaar worked really well at times with Pienaar looking a lot more creative.
2. Front Row were awesome including the second front row at the end.
3. Willie Falloon had his best game this season.
4. If Paddy doesn't get to play at least some of the game against Scotland I'll personally do a streak at Landsdowne Road.
5. D'Arcy played really really well and I can understand some people calling for hime to start but Ternblanche was equally impressive.
All in all a good performance.
Cant wait. Not for Paddy Bloody Wallace, just the strip. Sure do it anyway.

Well done Ulster.
Beware of the ones they call Warriors. Blues have 2 games in hand also. Munster have 1. 7 teams well in it for the playoffs and positions therin. Its getting stronger. It is blatant now. Aironi at home, a major handful too now.
Big game between Treviso and Blues tomorrow. Blues need it bad.
Ulster did what they had to do. Keep winning their games and they will have a chance of the playoffs. Really interesting happenings in Scotland though. Glasgow going well in the Rabo and Edinburgh in the QF of the HC against Toulouse. They will score tries against anyone.

MrsP. A plan is being formulated for the 4 on Tour to wear tartan-skirts and show their arses. A Pic will be taken.

Could be Notch could be. Id be wary of the Usual Suspects of Leinster, Munster Blues and O's. Didnt happen last year, but it mostly does (for the Welsh pair) when they are out of Yurop. If Ulster beat Munster in Thomond, Im sure your priorities will shift a tad. PRO what?

It was a good game to watch. End to end stuff.
Edinburgh like to play it loose and fast. You can see why they score plenty and concede plenty too. They don't have great strength outside their top team so the scoreline is understandable.

Yep, thats the factor that could undermine us. But I honestly think the Ospreys aren't up to much, nor the Blues. At least not on the road.
Our next three games are against the two Italian sides and Connacht so we need three good solid wins and we'll definitely be in the mix.

Its wierd MrsP. They score a lot of tries. Mainly through McVisser.
He will be a huge addition to the Scotland squad later in the year.

Edinburgh amazing stats; 33 tries scored, 44 conceded! The worst defence in the league. And just 4 league wins all season. You have to think if Edinburgh hadn't made the quarter-final we'd be talking about Michael Bradley in an entirely different manner...

More good news. Ulster got a lot of stick for this signing but he's been nothing short of brilliant.

Down the Orange brick road?
What is even more strange is that, maybe 2 years ago Leinster were pretty much the lowest try scorers.

He is focused on the HC to make his name. They are a completely different animal in it. That's why they are in the QF's. On pure merit.
I think they could beat Toulouse. Really do. They cant get relegated from the PRO12. But a HC SF with Edinburgh? In his 1st year? He made that call early to focus on it. Its why they are at the bottom of the PRO12. Smart man.
He will be given so much time and have so much kudos, if he achieves that. Even now - he's earned it. Great stuff. Happy for him.

Ah, it's more the SRU are willing to pay for a decent first team but they have next to zero depth! Still, they play a lovely brand of rugby. One of the most aesthetically pleasing teams in the league.
They'll win nothing without a tighter defence mind. Edinburgh vs Toulouse could be a cracker. Expect tries a plenty.

Yeah, under Cheika, at the end, we started to play like Ireland under Kidney. Grinding out games and winning by a few pts. He left at the right time. If not, we'd have pushed him.

No sheet. but hes a great coach. Took us, and the whole club, to places we'd never been before. And because of his legacy - we are still there. Proven.

I'm not sure.
I don't think he style is the right one, either the style of rugby he coaches or his man management.
Not up to me though and the men that make those decisions now at Ravenhill haven't made too many mistakes so far, so I guess I'll just have to trust them.

Actually, before I go.
Speaking of consultants.
Can you imagine what was going through poor Mike McCommish's addled mind when he woke up on the pitch to see 2 Knee Surgeons beside him?????
Poor lad must have thought he'd done both ACLs!

Its not funny really.
On Cheika, yes, I dont think he is right for ye now. Maybe later.
Can I ask this, and be brutally honest here... would somone like Joe Schmidt be the One for you?
His type might not work out in Ulster. Dunno.
Not taking de push here, but I think a Saffer coach would gel it all together. As long as he was Church-going.
