League Breakdown and Rules
- Spoiler:
- Welcome to the 606v2 Euro Division
Where this will be different to the existing leagues is that the sides involved are entirely made up.
You don't inherit a pre-made European side.
Instead you make your own.
You would initially start with £150m with which to buy a MINIMUM of 15 players and a MAXIMUM of 23 players.
The prices for these players are determined entirely through the transfermarkt website.
http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/
But here's where it gets interesting...the prices that are used on transfermarkt are the minimum you can bid, because other people in the league may also want the same person, so do you risk bidding the flat fee or do you bid more (increased bids have to be a minimum £500k more), the other point of note at this stage is that the maximum value player you can bid on is £15m (though you can choose to bid more than the £15m to get the player)
You then get an ADDITIONAL £50m with which to purchase upto 2 STAR players (min 1), though the maximum you can spend on 1 player is £35m.
This will then result in you having a team of a minimum of 16 players and maximum of 25 players.
You then have to name the team, give it a location where they play their home games and send this via PM to myself and Sodhat before the cut off point (to be decided).
Results of who got which player will then be announced and for those that lost out on players due to being outbid, a second chance is available to acquire players before the league starts, and third etc if needed.
Number of leagues is dependent upon how many players participate.
Foreign transfers.
As the only deciding factor for selling a player is cash then there shouldn't be wrangles over if a TP is accepted or not, if you have the cash you can buy!
TPs though will only go through once a week on a Sunday night for the week ahead.
Max transfer value for bringing in a player from foreign transfers is £15m in Season 1.
You can only make 2 foreign transfers per week.
Domestic transfers
Players can move only twice between domestic clubs per season, once they have moved twice you will have to wait until the following season to sell to another domestic club.
They can though be released or sold to an outside club.
For anyone that joins the league after it begins then the following rule applies for the first two weeks:
Transfers between 2 domestic clubs must be within 20% of each other in total monetary value. So for example if Team A wish to buy a player from Team B worth £10m then they must offer between £8-£12m in player/cash value.
Note that once 2 weeks have passed then the manager is allowed to but and sell as they please but this rule is in place to combat the usual bombardment of silly offers that litter the new managers page.
Injuries
Injuries shall be announced once per week on a Sunday night, they shall consist of 2 players, one based from the team picked for the previous weeks game and one from the entire squad.
Tactics
Each week you shall play 1 game, either league or cup (no more than one game per week though), tactics for this game shall consist of a team sheet, injuries for your team and a maximum of 15 bullet point lines worth of team instructions.
As well as the tactical instructions you are allowed 2 extra lines of a team talk to motivate your players, show your worth not just for tactics but how you build players up for the game!
Failure to get tactics up by the deadline of 11:59pm each Wednesday without a decent reason will result in a goal loss per day not posted and no entitlement to cash bonus that week. Repeated failure shall result in extra injuries to team and possible expulsion from the league.
Please do not look at your opponents tactics if they are already posted, it's giving you an unfair advantage and basically cheating. If it is deemed to have taken place then you will be forced to hand in your tactics in first on a weekly basis.
Cash
Each week you receive 2m for a win, 1m for a draw, zilch for a loss.
You also receive an extra £2m per week for ensuring your tactics are handed in on time and you've voted on the results.
Each week there shall be a £1m cash bonus to the team voted best tactics.
Hopefully this is enough to entice to sign up! If you have any further questions then please do not hesitate to ask and I look forward to seeing your team sheets!

Scholes never had to, Keano would do that. Paul Scholes score Goals!but Gerrard can carry a team and drive them forward better than Scholes.
But look at him now Afro, 37 and he is able to drive his team forward, in a different manner to how Gerrard does but nevertheless he drives Man United forward.
Really now....... So when Ajax were all over us at Old Traffod Scholes introduction didnt calm the game down? Steady the Man United ship?If the team is on the back foot and under pressure, Scholes becomes less effective
Afro, your really making some silly statements today.

If Scholes was in a struggling side, I don't think he would have been as good. He only seems effective on the front foot, which he has had most of the time at United. It is far easier to control a game for United, with the players around you, then say for Everton or Bolton.

Re: The 606V2 Fantastic Fantasy League Homepage III
Ferguson is the best at doing that.
I don't get how United were lucky? Yes you put pressure on United and only once we failed at dealing with it and you scored the rest of the time our team dealt with it.
In that first half, they put 12 crosses into the box and if it wasn't for (Rio) Ferdinand, (Jonny) Evans and David de Gea, we wouldn't have survived it
Of course is is not there job to stop goals going in? Fact is Norwich scored one and United scored two you did not deserve anything from that game. Yes you played well but if you deserved to win or get something you would have you can't blame the referee for that. An I don't understand how United were lucky? It's not like the goal to a defection.
I just really hate the term "We deserved to win"

Got to agree with this.
Better team for the most - Yes
Deserved to win - No, United scored more legit goals.

Hero you're another one who likes Gerrard and believe that he really is a great player because the media and BBC tell you that.
I agree Gerrard can carry a team and drives forward well but can Gerrard play in a top quality team where the demands and expectations are much more greater where you are expected to put in top quality performances in week in week out not just in the big games, able to understand other great players and be able to play with them and not have the team suited and tactically stiched to suit you, still look brilliant when you play alongside Monster gods such as Ronaldo, Keane, Giggs and so on.

Your "bench Carrick and bring back a retired Paul Scholes" statement was silly, I proved you wrong on it and I dont think you even replied, Viva even asked you to and I dont think ive seen it if you did.
The Gerrard thing is just an opinion.

Can we cut out terms such as ' who bums Gerrards'?
You lose all credibility with the rest of your point when you reduce your opening line to that level.

OK Afro: you replied with
Nothing in reply to your silly statement of Carrick being benched.
Thats what I disagree with. a silly statement which is quite far from the truth.
The gerrard/schole is an opinionated debate.
For the record, my actual opinion is that Carrick has played really well this season and should be ahead of at least Barry in the England reckoning.

We'll never know as he has stayed at Liverpool. But I am still entitled to my opinion that I would rather have Gerrard in my team than Scholes. For example, I don't think Scholes would have clawed Liverpool back into the 2005 CL Final the way Gerrard did.
And Nick, posted earlier...

I voted Scholes over Gerrard in central/attacking midfield. But defensively, although neither are great DM's, Gerrard is able to time a tackle so beats Scholes there.

And the point to which you referred Utd weren't lucky to beat Norwich due to the number of chances Utd carved, chances mean nothing, Arsenal most games carve chances galore but they try and walk the ball into the back of the net.
Fergie himself admitted post match we were lucky. Is he wrong but you're right?
And if you're wanting FAKTS as you bluntly break it down to between Scholes and Gerrard, on an individual basis rather than club wise:

Well this is a hefty debate.
I think that although Gerrard has more individual honours, he gets more notice for carrying Liverpool and generally his playing style is more eye catching than Scholes', if not any more effective.
That isn't to say he doesn't deserve them, I'd say he does, but I'd say from that list that Scholes is a little underappreciated.

It is actually quite tricky because I would have wanted both in my team. They bring very different things to the team.
I went with Gerrard because of his allround game, but only just.
Be interesting to see the result of the vote if it excluded United and Liverpool supporters.

All we know is Scholes has been playing for the best team in England with great for all his career and in that time he is still considered one of the best from them. I think the most greatest thing about Scholes is how he has changed the way he plays so he can still carry he has evolved something Gerrard is yet to do.

I think the injuries over the years to Gerrard have affected him more so than the ones Scholes have had, and Scholes retired from the International scene early in a bid to prolong his club career.

Ive admitted im wrong on occasions yes, I did it the other day with Fan when I made a statement without checking the facts re players assists.
But you actually were made to look stupid and now say its a "WUM" to back track and not look like a muppet. Even Viva questions you up to the point your realised you looked like a muppet and thought, oh I ccan say its a wum to get out of it.

No chance I would say. Gerrard will stop playing by the time he is 35 I reckon. His game is more about energy and he will lose that. I think a closer comparison is Giggs, who was about energy, but has adapted in a way that Gerrard won't

Nick think you need to rephrase that. Does anyone think that Gerrard will be anywhere half as good as Scholes when is 37? It's a straight no.
Hero I never said that United created a lot of chances that was Tooze. All I said was United deserved to win the game because they scored 2 and Norwich 1. Yes Norwich did play very well and put pressure on United but they only got one goal so no they didn't deserve anything.
It's not luck that De Gea, Evans and Ferdinand dealt with almost everything that Norwich chucked it's because they are very good Footballers.

You can't say it's lucky that the keeper and defenders kept Norwich from scoring a second. They did their jobs well and deservedly kept Norwich out for the most.

One of the best examples is the 2005 FA Cup final between United and Arsenal. Arsenal were so scared of us that they played 4-5-1 (First time under Wenger) with Bergkamp as a lone striker, we battered them so bad in that game I couldn't believe it and I think it was in extra time from a free kick where they got their first shot on target.
But did we deserve to win the game? Hell no!!!

Re: The 606V2 Fantastic Fantasy League Homepage III
He is normally bang on.
He is not so much a mate, but a guy who I work closely with in Madrid. He is a club member of many years and was the one who took me to Real v Ajax.
I don't really know how much inside info he has got, but he has known about a few things that I could find nothing on the internet about, but turned out true (Adebayor loan; he told me about Drenthe coming to Everton on loan before it was in the press)

Thats true but I would say hes been brilliant. One in the face of the Arsenal haters
3/4 leage wins including the battering of Blackburn and Spurs last week, suppose that justifies PL Manager of the Month.
He has also been knocked out of the FA CUp in Feb and effectively out of the CL.

Re: The 606V2 Fantastic Fantasy League Homepage III
Long live Wenger, I just hope it spends money in the Summer. Brilliant coach I respect him highly sometimes is a bit too stubborn I hope Arsenal beat Milan and go through.
Re: The 606V2 Fantastic Fantasy League Homepage III
Id like them too, we need a representative in the next round and further. Dont think either Chelsea or Arsenal will manage it tho.I hope Arsenal beat Milan and go through.
Doubt he will spend money either. From when he said hes under pressure to make £15,-20m per season I just cant see how spending money will allow him to achieve that. More so with the £40m prifit the announced for the recent period was only due to player sales as year before for same period was a loss.
