The Pro 12 is the rugby equivalent of Cricket's County Championship. The spare parts plugging away each week while the Internationals are unavailable/ only play in the big games like the Heineken Cup, yet still try and charge top whack to go and watch 2nd/ 3rd choice players.
Back on topic Glasgow good value for the win.

Ospreys were crap,Ref was crap and Glasgow were half-decent.Not sure what the admission charges are but I would not go beyond £5 to watch that rubbish.
On reflection why would anyone venture forth when it is on tv?No atmosphere and second rate product.Poor.

I agree with the above but many Pro Pro 12 supporter's argue that it gives a chance for youngsters coming through.
Any good displays from them?

Re: Ospreys v Glasgow
I didn't want to post about this game last night as I wanted to calm down first so I could post rationally, but to be honest I'm not much happier now anyway.
The effort from the lads was disgraceful, few of them seem interested in tackling, or putting in any kind of effort. I was happy for Tandy to be given a chance, but it was proved 2 weeks ago that the back row of Sam Lewis, Bearman and smith offers nothing at all, no power or go forward yet he persists with it, when we have JT and Stowers on the bench who are both decent ball carriers.
Sam Lewis has talented kid, but if your going to pick a 5'10" openside who is barely 15 stone then for gods sake pick a blindside and No8 who can make up for his lack of strength. Because at the moment we have 3 weaklings in the back row and can't create any space for our backs.
I will say the referee was harsher on the Ospreys than Glasgow but that is to be expected, and most penalties the Ospreys conceded were from scrums and to me it looked as though out scrum was standing up to avoid going backwards most of the game, it was clear to me who was winning most of the engagements and it wasn't us. People can pick out the referee and moan about him but in fairness if your team picks the lighetest pack it can and it getting pushed all over the park, your team makes basic errors that school boys shouldn't make, and players are passing the buck and trying to avoid making tackles then you lose, and we deserved to lose this game.
I asked my brother in laws if they wanted to leave as early as the 45th minute, though we managed to stick it out till the 68th, Though I'd say half the home fans were queuing up to get out by then anyway. I have seen some teams take some real beatings but I have never felt as though I needed to walk out of a game early before because I was so disgusted with the effort from the team I support, but last night really made me question whether I really want to make the effort to go to the stadium and watch them play.
For the first time my brother in laws and myself had a serious discussion about going to watch another team after that shambles, to be honest if I see anything that bad again, I will probably just be another tv fan of the Ospreys.

AD, bizarrely I thought Paterson spent most of the game trying to compensate for being Scottish, and awardign any marginal call against Glasgow - he was atrocious for most of the game, perplexing calls both ways.AlynDavies wrote:I didn't want to post about this game last night as I wanted to calm down first so I could post rationally, but to be honest I'm not much happier now anyway.

Happy with Pyrgos's game, one of his best for a while, and thought Ryan Grant put in a useful shift in the loose, supported by Tom Ryder and the ruck inspector. Dunbar at OC was our most dangerous back, hopefully he can get a run of games there, and we'll see an end to this ridiculous talk of Hogg at 13

Not at all impressed by the "cheat, cheat, cheat" chanting - has no place in rugby

It happens at all Welsh regions to be honest, the worst thing that can happen, (and it always happens) is that you can have a ref of the same nationality as the away side, because when 50/50 calls start going against you then problems occur. If a Welsh team is playing a Scottish one, then the referee should be Italian or Irish.
No question Glasgow were the deserved winners though, if they had won by a 20 point margin then I would of not complained the Ospreys were a total shambles. God help us with Leinster away next!

I didn't see the match but I agree about the ref comments. Referees who have to ref a team from their own country are put in an impossible situation.
As for the Ospreys, new teams take a while to gel. Glasgow are a good team and very hard to beat and they make it tough for the opposition. Any young team would struggle against them.

Thats the same Ospreys team they've had pretty much this whole year. They've been crap in every game this season. No excuses for that performance

Re: Ospreys v Glasgow
Quite harsh from the 'Spreys fans?
Glasgow had 6 full internationalists on the pitch almost the entire time. Pretty tough ask for most teams during this window.
If it wasn't for recent injury, Jackson and Kellock would be in the Scotland squad and if it wasn't for Robinson being such a poopie selector Welsh would have been there with them.

Great result from Glasgow. Lineen deserves much credit for the way he's got this squad competing week in week out. He's made Glasgow a very tough side to beat, and a pretty consistent outfit.

George,
if it wasn't for that idiot referee we would have had 5 points and denied the Ospreys a losing bonus (and Jackson's woeful kicking of course) !

Re: Ospreys v Glasgow
I have been told that the Ospreys qote their crowd based on the number of season tickets sold + the numbers paying at the gate. The fact is many season ticket holders have given up going to the game because the product is so poor. Most supporters should watch the premiership games, much cheaper, consistent selection and better atmosphere. Why pay £22/head to watch a reserve match with the worst ref Scotland can muster and the Ospreys flyhalf is getting worse the more experience he gets. I doubt Neath, Swansea or Bridgend would have Biggar in their team unless they were paid and playing weak opposition.
