Ireland v Scotland match thread
First topic message reminder :
Scotland have been playing well and causing alot of teams problems and leading the 6N stats in line breaks.
I am expecting a very open game against Ireland and it could be a high scorer.

Very close game this, maybe my prediction of Ireland by 5 or 6 wasn't so inaccurate....

You can tell we don't score many points. Restarts obviously don't feature on the training ground.....

Ireland are scoring TRIES this tournament. They should have some good momentum going to Twickenham, and probably win thus condeming England to my predicted finish for them.

Tackling optional for Scotland today it seems, it looks as though all those defeats have hit the Scottish confidence now, and they have slipped back into bad habits.
I have been saying for ages Scotland need a new coach and it is showing at the moment.

Re: Ireland v Scotland match thread
Scotland are going to get stuffed by Italy with their defence on the wings, such soft tries! Well done Ireland so far, I thought Ireland made two mistakes not taking the kicks but they both paid off, they would have been mistakes against Wales, England and France.

Re: Ireland v Scotland match thread
I'll be fair, Ireland deserve credit. Two tries came from situations where they could have slowed things down and scored 3 points. Credit where credit is due.
Still think Sean Lamont's "charge down" deserves a mention for moment of the match. What a total plonker.....HAVE IT!!!

Scotland's defence is like a sieve - very, very weird.
Good try by Trimble but he should have been stopped.
Mossy correct in interview - lack of composure.

Great finish, but really dreadful defence from Reddan and Bowe there. Shouldn't have been a try in a million years. Fantastic finish from the form second row in northern hemisphere rugby.
Really pleased with the Irish backrow. O'Mahony is not as good a player as O'Brien, but his different skill set has brought much better balance. O'Mahony has put an awful lot of grunt work in

I certainly didn't say that to take away from Gray. Magnificent try. Any other second row wouldn't have scored that even after the poor tackling. He is almost like an extra backrow forward

To be fair looking back, Tommy didn't stand a chance, Grey put him on his arse and I don't know what Chilli was trying to do...it was a very good try.

Missed tackles from Jones again.. oo err, I really want him on the pitch but he needs to start making better tackles. He was way too low on trimble

Let the 'moving Ferris to second row' debate reignite again on Monday no doubt. I really rate Gray so highly. He would be my Lions captain to be honest, a leader and inspiration by example.

Except in the scrum where his binding has been non-existant.

Agreed. He has to improve his defence. Take a leaf out of Shane Williams and Lee Halfpenny's book. Bulk up and make your hits. He's costing us quite a lot today. His tap before half time was truly awful.

definately, often you find the ref will give a pen for not binding on his side, yet our side watching on the tv you will see the opposition player not binding that side
