Ireland v Scotland match thread
First topic message reminder :
Scotland have been playing well and causing alot of teams problems and leading the 6N stats in line breaks.
I am expecting a very open game against Ireland and it could be a high scorer.

Tell you what, what ever you think about where Keith Earls should be playing, he's really growing into that 13 role.

Held up was fair. He had an age to ground it.

I thought no try, Bowe was holding on for a good few seconds which is why I asked was there a time limit in this case.

Difficult decision there for the TMO, probably the right one though. Good defence from Morrison

Re: Ireland v Scotland match thread
Interesting decision
Was it double movement because it took so long?

As far as I understand the law of holding on doesn't really apply over the tryline.
It is usually either held up or a try.
In this case there was only one defender so the movement you make to ground the ball I expect has to be immediate, you can't wriggle around forever to get it down as each of them is a movement.
In that case he should have just held on and it would have been seen as held on.
I think.
but then it isn't really a ruck when there aren't a next arrival.
Maybe we should ask Stag.

Big penalty again for Scotland, just need a bit of Jon Davies' famous "Composure" and try to pick up some points going into the last 20

Re: Ireland v Scotland match thread
I think Earls is having a decent match. He certainly hasn't been the weak link in defence but has shown little in attack. D'Arcy having another poor match though.
Just as I type that I see Kidney has made some changes. I am VERY worried about the rest of this match.

I like the idea of Sexton at 12. D'Arcy has been poor again, how he continually gets picked i will never know.
