Ireland v Scotland match thread
First topic message reminder :
Scotland have been playing well and causing alot of teams problems and leading the 6N stats in line breaks.
I am expecting a very open game against Ireland and it could be a high scorer.

Nasty clash of heads. No intent to injure.
Game is sort of dying out. Ireland doing a great job at the breakdown. New 7 looks like a workhorse and Stephen Ferris has yet again been outstanding.
Ferris vs Lydiate for the Lions blindside? Extremely tough call.
I dont think there is any competition between the two. Ferris is the better player by a mile. Lydiate is excellent in defence and such but offers nothing around the park

Once again, Scotland get very nervous in the 2nd half when they still have a chance of winning - they then make sure they butcher every opportunity to become "plucky lossers"
Awful decision making in this half by Scotland.

Scotland have been very poor tonight, considering they had a week off and Ireland did not..Definately a step backwards and a waste of a BET!!!

game over, poor second half from Scotland, their scrum has been apalling, Kearney has been wonderful, and that is a yellow card surely

Evans Evans Evans... That might be his days for Scotland over I think, what with newer young backs coming through. He hasn't had a very good 6 nations.

Who was it that said on the Wales vs Italy match that they have lost respect for Parisse because he milked a penalty.
Well Earls did exactly the same thing there.

This 2nd half has been so crap compared to the 1st. It feels like nothing has happened.

Football dive there hardly touched Earls, touch judge conned.

Re: Ireland v Scotland match thread
On the replay it's clear that Earls has milked that. I don't care if there's contact from Evans (which there is and it's stupid), no rugby player should go to ground to win a penalty/yellow card.
Should be playing football instead. The contact never made him fall.
Shameful, and absolutely no need for it.

Yeh second viewing he made a meal of it, bit like Parisse earlier on, hope this isn't creeping into the game of rugby

Re: Ireland v Scotland match thread
Ireland completely deserve this win.
A completely messy performance from Scotland and if you allow the Irish scrum to dominate you are in serious trouble.
Really disappointed in the performance and the result.

DOR MOTM
I was talking to a rugby player recently, and he said that they have a Tw@t of the Match as well who has to wear a bright yellow tee shirt. I wish they'd do that for the Six Nations.
32 - 14. FT.

Scotland just seemed to fall apart as the game went on. Great play from Ireland. They need to approach next weeks game with a tournament winning mentality and they'll beat England.

Re: Ireland v Scotland match thread
I'm consistently told that Andy Robinson is a world class forwards coach.
The Scottish scrum has been a national embarrassment this evening. The replacements didn't work (I'm sorry but let me be the first Scot to say that Al Kellock is an average player) and the scoreline was utterly fair.
FURIOUS. We are better than that.
Best of luck to the Irish next week. Ryan was very good, Ferris was excellent and Best's captaincy went very well. Reddan was sharp and Healy was awesome in the loose (and decent in the scrum).

Whoever is our scrum coach needs to be sacked!! I am soo sick of our scrums being dominated so easily!! And why can't we play 80 minutes of rugby!?! Same story again and again.

to Scotland, they more than played there part in what was, at least, 40 minutes of good rugby. The second half was pish but the first half was great.
