After considerable minimal thought, it seems likely that there are also other untapped or aspiring golf writers in our midst. Whether it be penning out a weekly article akin to the likes of kwini, writing creative golf course reviews or a very short story, fictional or not, about local hackers, playing partners or clubhouse experiences, certainly some of us here could develop our own periodical bylines. It would take a bit of time and effort but we'd have a few laughs, pretentious outrages and bold literary criticism along the way.

I dug up this quote from W. Somerset Maugham as an inspiration for us all:
"There are three rules for writing the novel. Unfortunately, no one knows what they are."

The next time I play a course i think would be of interest to the group I will have a bash at writing up a review. Further to this what do people think about allowing photos for course reviews but nothing else?

I think course reviews would be a neat thing for people to detail here thumbsup. Photos would be great but fitting in with some of the Admin ideas here, might it not be better to have link(s) out to the actual photos? I'd happily go for them here but I'm not sure it fits the Admins' ideas about being 'unobtrusive' in workplace environments.

Mac, it'd be a nice touch to see any photos you'd have of the courses in review being that I live on the other side of the pond and then some. Regardless, I'm sure many of us are eager to check out your writing style and approach. If you're considering writing a series of reviews, a signature titled byline would be interesting. The alternative of allowing others to come up with a name for your column would be...

I think the forum settings disallow embedded pictures - but putting links into a blog or article so people can choose to look at them if they wish will be no problem thumbsup
