Stuart Broad next ODI captain?
Michae Vaughan has recently said that he thinks that he thinks that Andrew Strauss is going to give up the captaincy, Alistair Cook would be the favourite but he wasn't even included in the world cup squad.Vaughan thinks currently injured all-rounder Stuart Broad should be captain it would certainly be something different and I can see it being a good option Broad is relatively experienced been in the squad for a few years and we havn't had an England bowling captain for a while.Say Strauss gave up the captaincy do you think Broad is the right option or would you rather have someone else next captain?
Re: Stuart Broad next ODI captain?
I'm doubtful about Broad as a captain at this stage. Risk that there will be no toys left in the pram?

Giving him the captaincy would give him to much to do at the moment,
as he needs to be concentrating on his own form at the moment.
Plus the fact he is slighly injury prone at the moment, does not help
his cause.
Cook would be okay (the fact he wasn't at the wc was the ECB's fault
not his), or may be KP

Bell would be my personal choice as captain of the ODI team and could easily take the spot of opener in the one day side.

IF strauss resigns and retires then the natural replacement is cook.

Cook is Strauss's natural successor in test matches, but in ODIs? Not too sure about that.. An interesting point about Broad: I don't know if anyone here has read Strauss's autobiography, but in it he mentions that in the last West Indies tour they played a match among themselves, in which the two captains were Broad and Anderson. Strauss was apparently quite impressed with Broad's captaincy.
Looking at it from another viewpoint, what are the options (in ODIs). If you go by the fact the captain should be guaranteed a spot, then:
Pietersen - won't go down that route again
Trott - seems to me too focused on his batting
Morgan - don't think he's really captaincy material
Broad
Swann
maybe Bresnan too, but don't see him as a captain at all.
So to me it seems between Broad and Swann, though I think the selectors will go for Cook, who will replace Strauss in the 50 over team.

i dont see broad being skipper and Cook will be in side if strauss resigns so natural replacement, and i dont see broad being captain material.
