I believe that's what New Zealand said in '99...
Wales are favourites but don't count your chickens before they hatch or you may end up with egg on your face

You want to hope you are right Ruby, because if not you are going to have to eat a very large piece of humble pie.

Re: Which French side will turn up?
I can't see the French being as up for this as Wales, but the pressure on Wales could also play a negative part. Hopefully France can play with determination and freedom in equal measures and get a big win to give England a realistic chance of the Championship.

Seems like France themselves are more worried about the ref. Would they rather have Wayne Barnes, I wonder?

Im not sure about this French team. PSA has Beauxis at fly half and has insisted the roof stays open despite rain being forcast. That just doesnt sound like a french team of any era to me. Its almost like he is trying to stifle them which after Crazy Marc I find astounding. If they play within a tactical straightjacket they will get slaughtered. If the open up and play with pace and elan Wales are in trouble.

Too late to derail the GS train. France may test us but eventually they'll succumb and get snuffed out. They're battered, plagued by their usual patches of inconsistency that linger between short bursts of brilliance and won't measure up to the performance Wales will deliver to clinch it and give Merv a memorial to remember.

Hopefully a great one, on fire, playing as only the French can. This way, assuming Wales do win, there will be no comments about a weak 6 Nations, Wales having beaten underperforming Ireland and England sides. Just a solid 6 Nations victory, hard earned and properly won.

I strongly suspect that not even the French will know which side will turn up...

Hmm tricky. If the awesome scary French side turn up then Wales were always over-rated, but if the cheese-eating surrender monkey French side turn up... Pffft - devalued grand slam!

Wales will win. They're better coached, better drilled, have a better gameplan, are fitter and are at home.

Rupert Brooke:
If I should die, think only this of me:
That there's some corner of a foreign field
That is for ever England. There shall be
In that rich earth a richer dust concealed;
A dust whom England bore, shaped, made aware,
Gave, once, her flowers to love, her ways to roam,
A body of England's, breathing English air,
Washed by the rivers, blest by suns of home.
And think, this heart, all evil shed away,
A pulse in the eternal mind, no less
Gives somewhere back the thoughts by England given;
Her sights and sounds; dreams happy as her day;
And laughter, learnt of friends; and gentleness,
In hearts at peace, under an English heaven
Well my personal bit of England/Englishness will be rooting for a sensational French performance.
I would draw the line at Wales not winning the 6Ns though. They are overall the best side to watch.

If I should die after that Scott Williams try
Scored in the corner of a foreign field
That is for ever England. There shall be
In that rich earth a Triple Crown concealed;
A performance that is our England bore,
Gave, once, her foreigners to love and her shirts to wear,
A body of England's, breathing English air,
Washed down the swanny by the rampant sons of Owain
And think, this heart, all evil shed away,
A pulse in the eternal mind, no less
Gives somewhere back the thoughts by England given;
Her sights and sounds; dreams destroyed on that very day;
And laughter, from our learned friends in red,
In hearts at peace, under a shattered chariot that was forever Englands
Scored in the corner of a foreign field
That is for ever England. There shall be

the question is simple- who will win? who will play better? how will the teams play?, what tactics will the teams operate?, how will the ref treat the game? whuch team wants it more?, which team has better form? etc etc

Anyway, if Wales win 3 grand slams in 8 years we will NEVER hear the end of it.

Re: Which French side will turn up?
It shouldn't matter. Wales should be Champions by this time tomorrow, even if they lose, though England could give them lessons aplenty about how it feels when a potential GS becomes on the last day of the 6N 'only' a Championship win with a 4-1 record. Logic also suggests there is more chance of England finishing 4th, after wins for France and Ireland win at HQ, than of an English Championship.
Relax Wales. Who cares what France turns up? Your best or near to it should be good enough to see off this French team.

I would rather a France win opening up the chance of both a Championship and a 4th placed finish than a Wales win ruling them both out.

mystiroakey,
I'm afraid it's 'grammar', not 'grammer'; 'don't' not 'dont' and the expression is '...above your station' (singular) not 'stations'.
Go stand in the corner, boy - no, not there, right in the corner where you no longer can see the television screen with the live rugby
