Well Done Wales, But.....
I'm not knocking Wales, they were the best team this year and well done, enjoy the party tonight and most likely tomorrow morning too, but does anyone else think that the French gave up to easily?
They had a chance to go for the try and they decided to take the three points instead, That's so unlike the French , remember the world cup when all they needed was to take the three points in front of the post against Tonga to win instead they went for the try and got it.
Just seems strange?

Re: Well Done Wales, But.....
What seems strange is that the French had to wait until the last game of the 6Ns to play well and were beaten by the better team. Its a shame they didn't play like that against England
This was the 6Ns 2012 the WC was last year, thats 2011 to you, different players made those decisions etc etc etc yawn
Whats strange is your comments TBH

France definately gave up too early, they didn't look like they were bothering following the Ireland draw!
France and Ireland both capitulated V England, why in what is possibly their best performance of the tourny do you feel they gave up too early?

We were Poopie all tournament (apart from winning as underdogs against Ireland in the first game) yet we still won the whole thing without losing. Odd.

Uh....because the penalty got them to 4 behind & a try would then have won it for them?

Nicely understated but very true.
Many close games that could easily have gone either way

No bitterness here, just wondering why the French were so err un-French?

I still think France would rather Wales win a Grand Slam than giving England a chance at the 6 Nation title.
I'm not saying they rolled over, but I don't think their hearts were really in it.

Re: Well Done Wales, But.....
We were lucky in Dublin (although there is the argument that we made our luck). England should have beaten us but left us off the hook. C'est la vie, mes amis, c'est la vie.
Don't forget, Italy had you beaten in Rome but left you off the hook with a crazy substitution.
The unpalatable truth for the English is that whoever had won that first game in Dublin would have won the Grand Slam.
Thank you Pro12.

That comment is beneth you Hersh. Depite your digs you know your rugby and if you really think France under-performed due to any nationality bias then I'd question your senses. They were poor all tornament and made strange decisions all tournament, Saturday was no different.

I think that the unpaletable truth for some of the Celts is that England, despite being young, inexperienced, under new management and expected to fail miserably, were the team of the tournament in many respects and apart from a narrow loss against Wales, would have been going for the Grand Slam themselves.
In fact, I would imagine that providing England can continue in this manner, it is they who will be going into next year's competition as favourites.

I have no question they will go into next tourny as favourites...
And I cannot wait to see them with a bit of pressure on, 2nd season syndrome hopefully won't kick in and the French and Irish won't actually turn up.
Fingers crossed boys...

Edinburgh and Rome. You used up your luck there. It couldn't continue. More's the pity.

Re: Well Done Wales, But.....
When was the last slam where one team genuinly dominanted all their games and didnt riude their luck at some point. Its not unfair to say England were lucky in Endinburgh.
France chose to play that way against England too, and it was the Ireland game that pushed them in that direction. Sure Wales didnt have to face the best of them ( who did?) but they got a better Scotland and Irleand team tunr up than England did.

Well done Wales but.......nothing! They won every game and the GS is in the bag. France never gave up or fail to turn up. Wales gave them absolutely jack squit and won the game at a canter. Championship high 5's all round.

Re: Well Done Wales, But.....
Come on Wales 5 very lucky wins if you believe anything the sais say.
Fact is why let this silly Hersh wind you up?
We beat the sais at their own cabbage patch and a better Ireland in Dublin. In fact if anything Ireland's heads were down in England.
Can not wait to play the sais at Cardiff next season and destroy their dreams if one of the other nations does not do it first.
GRAND SLAM 2012 ....... CYMRU WALES

What summed up the French effort for me was when Yachvili just stood there and allowed the Welsh to take the ball instead of trying to secure it himself?
They were very out of sorts this week, and showed a lack of commitment.

Hersh that makes no sense, why would one team lose to another to spite a third team? I am pretty sure France didn't roll over, they just struggled to stay in a match where the Welsh were highly motivated and their intensity never wained.

Re: Well Done Wales, But.....
Well done Wales on a well deserved Slam! Never an easy thing to achieve and always requires the ball to bounce your way once or twice.
Once the hangovers wear off...
Will Wales beat the Wallabies playing as they have done in the 6N?
(If they need to improve i have confidence that they have that improvement in them. )

Re: Well Done Wales, But.....
They did try for 20 minutes.
France have been bad for this for some time, it reminds me a lot of England since the SA game. Many of the players look like they would ratehr be somewhere else for much of the game, even when tehya re winning. The world cup they were massively under par most of the time ( they blew England away by trying for 30 minutes).
This sums up the difference between what Lancatser has acheived and what PSA has. One team is happy and full of p1ss and vinegar and for the most part ( lets forget about Ashton) enjoying their rugby , the other with better more experienced players looks like it wanst to crawl into a cave and die. Pshcology is an important part of rugby, I think this weekends games have proven that.

So France played for 30mins against England and only 20mins against Wales, that proves my point.

Come on Hersh, the only time France really put in a good showing was the 2nd half against Ireland. Good victory for Eng but France were pretty poor, and we beat them they werent much better. Scotland wernt too far of beating them either.

Re watched the game and it’s more obvious the 2nd time France gave up, several players can be seen shrugging their shoulders when they opted for the kick at goal instead of a scrum in the centre of the field.
